26th!

Assume that is a chunk of the season without Beal and Bertans?

Yeah, smaller sample size but the best thing to look at would probably be non-bubble games after the IT trade. Unfortunately, that's... eleven games. Opponents were CLE, CHI, MIL, BRK, UTA, GSW, SAC, POR, ATL, MIA, NYK. We went 4-7, winning vs. BRK, @ GSW, vs. ATL, vs. NYK.

I think on paper the wizards are sitting around 5-7 but they could be better depending on how ,bryant, rui, devi, brown, bonga, mo , matthews and the young guns develop. Rui looks good and tussle westbrooks agressive ness could rub off on the kids. This is still a young team. With a few good vets. If all of or some of these guys take a leap we could be right up there in the 3-5 range. And who know if devi pulls a luka and come in hit and ready.

In the 15 game stretch that Dckings mentioned pre bubble post IT, they ranked 21st in offensive rating. Still not great.

It was 15 games, as mentioned, not 11 games. We went 7-8.

Overall, we were down by 17 points in those 15 games, i.e. @-1.13 ppg. On the season we were down just over 4 ppg, so obviously we performed better.

But, 9 of the 15 were at home where, like pretty much all teams, we were better than on the road. Moreover, it was, overall, an easy schedule. Still... we were pretty clearly a better team w/o IT.

DCZards wrote:It’s fascinating to read posters here discuss how the Zards can (or should) improve their defensive ranking without seeing any mention of Jerome Robinson.

I know you guys hate to give him any props but Robinson is this team’s best perimeter defender with the exception of Bonga.

If Robinson knocks down his jumper (as I’ve seen him doing in some of the training camp videos), that and his D will earn him PT.

Robinson never misses a shot in a training camp video, it's true.

Of course, nobody else seems to either! :)

Zards has mentioned before that Brooks gave props to Jerome for his man defense in the bubble. So, for sure, it'll be worth watching for that again this year.

Overall, however, Jerome did not play well for the Washington Wizards in his 500 minutes; if he's going to have a long NBA career at any level, he's going to have to improve a fair amount. Luckily for him, he'll get the chance to do that: guys who were lottery picks usually get plenty of rope.

Oops, mixed up the trade deadline and the All-Star break - fifteen games is correct.

I saw Garrison miss one in the clip from a day or two ago - we should probably waive him now.
