Re: Extend Kuzma, Caruso and THT
I get the feeling we're waiting to extend Kuz until we can find a trade partner for him... I think all the happy-talk about him from the lakers is all smoke. He's still a bad fit right now...

I can't help but imagine Pelinka requesting Vogel to showcase Kuzma by playing him more and creating plays for him. But a more intriguing question is who can the Lakers get in return?

A similarly situated player on the up but stuck on an expiring deal on the wrong team.

Re: Extend Kuzma, Caruso and THT
Not sure if shared yet.
Edit: As for THT, It seems like his ability to make plays is really his strong points at this stage for the NBA game. We always have room for a playmaker, but I wouldn't expect him to shine like this in a 3&D role. If the coaching staff wants to include him as part of the rotation, I hope he plays minimal minutes with Lebron so he can flourish in the role he is best suited for.

Re: Extend Kuzma, Caruso and THT
I see a similar deal to De'Anthony Melton, also a 2nd rounder. Or Monte Morris.
He'll get paid, we have a history of good drafting from 2014 onwards. I think only Anthony Brown is not in the league anymore.
Every single other guy we took for ourselvez, no matter the pick is still in the NBA. Most of them got paid too.
D'Angelo Russell 4 years 117 mil
Brandon Ingram 5 years 158 mil
Julius Randle 3 years 62 mil
Jordan Clarkson 4 years 51 mil(2nd rounder)
Larry Nance 4 years 45 mil
Ivica Zubac 3 years 21 mil(2nd rounder)

Re: Extend Kuzma, Caruso and THT
THT is untouchable. Laker for Life with Caruso.
Kuzma is terrible when it comes to heart, defense, intelligence, and instinct still, but he can definitely put the ball in the hole in garbage time. But honestly, there's no reason for him to play more than 10 a game now with the other pieces (and wow is it nice to see Gasol facilitate a team).
The THT play that sealed it for me: he was already at 31 or 33 points, couldn't miss, made no bad plays of consequence. Game in the bag huge already. No reason to stay disciplined, and lesser teams would be showboating oops, lesser players would be stat padding. He gets a 3 as open as any he'd already made and instead immediately, crisply makes the extra pass to a wide open Dudley in the corner (higher percentage play), who drained it. That's the system believer, team-first, workaholic maybe-star you invest in.

I like Kuz, he plays with in a role. He can create some random offense for himself and his defense is nice.
He might be a bit underrated here now

Yes, simply taking all the shots or failing to recognize the easy/early pass (or the defense) is how to ensure you created your own offense lol.
Kuzma plays no defense of note, but I'll certainly keep watching to see if there are developments. He's typically late on all switches because he recognizes them late, doesn't anticipate well in one-one coverage, slow laterally anyway, etc. Arms out and feet moving doesn't = good defense.
But perhaps Kuzma as some sort of defensive player will be the narrative build up this year among those who need to (try to) pump back up his value?

Is it too late to suppress his playing time and hope he has little to no market? I'd love to have him around for the right price. Restricted free agency can be a crap shoot if there's a team desperate enough to throw big money at role players.

Don't forget Isaac Bong (39th pick). Bonga is looking like a solid prospect. There's little to no doubt he'll get a solid contract in due time.

per BBREF, Thomas Bryant was technically drafted by Utah and yet Lakers to him and he played 15 games his first year here. He has has a 17 Mil 2 year contract with the Wizards last year had a FREAKING 21.1 PER, 13.7 pts/7rebs,

Thomas Bryant surprised a lot of people. Very few, if any, thought he was a better prospect than Mo Wagner. It's undeniable that we have an impressive track record in drafting players.

Yup. I can’t seem to find that article but in that article it says that the Lakers are the 3rd best team in the last 10 years in terms of drafting players.
No. 1 was Toronto & No. 2 was Denver.
Surprisingly, the Spurs, Warriors and Celtics have been striking out this last decade and are among the worst drafters of late.
