Both Giannis and Harden would have to adapt their play to each other but there is no way it couldn’t work. Think about the gravity Giannis and Harden both pull, they’d create such space even i could get my shot off for the Bucks.

I've read several people post this trade, and I'd do it in a heartbeat.
Jrue / Augustin / Adams
Harden / Forbes / Merrill
Pat / Craig / Nwora / Thanasis
Tucker / Wilson / Diakite
Giannis / Portis
We would be like last year's rockets with Jrue/Giannis instead of Rus

They made it as far as we did, replace Russ(net negative) with Giannis(MVP and DPOTY) and they’re the #1 seed easily imo and would push the Lakers for sure. People were worried about Lebron/AD doing by themselves with random scrubs around them but they proved superior top end talent wins out 99% of the time.

Re: Bucks News, Trade Ideas, Transactions
Do they really have to adapt that much? Considering "the defensive wall" against Giannis in the playoffs, at that point, half court basketball belongs to Harden.
Giannis plays out of his mind for the 1st 3 quarters, fast breaks, rebounds, steals defense, and of course he would get his fair share of ISO. But when it comes down to the 4th in the playoffs, give it to Harden.
I think they actually compliment each other very well.
Harden doesn't have to be Harden for 4 quarters and can cruise until the 4th when we may need him most.

Nothing is going to come of this, me thinks, but I do wonder if we've even gotten on the phone. I'd have to imagine Horst knows his job is on the line, so if I'm him I'm trying to figure out how to make this happen.
Even if you are unsure about Giannis signing, trading for Harden gives you a better chance of winning a title/making a Finals and maybe convincing Giannis to stay.

D'Antoni enabled Harden to becoming unwatchable Harden the past few seasons, but he's been one of the best players in the league since before he started chucking up 13 threes a game.

To have a good chance of winning,2 super stars are needed. One more star helps a lot.
Neither Khris nor Jrue are superstars.
Giannis Harden would be superstars and Jrue would be the star. This is our best chance. We will also have all of them for a few years’ window for a championship.

Re: Bucks News, Trade Ideas, Transactions
I think Augustin and Jrue are both better creators off the dribble and in the PNR than any primary ball-handler on the team last year. I think DDV becomes that this year as well. I don't think they need to upgrade all the way to Harden to get much better in that department. Combine that with potentially better shooting and that's not what I'm worried about. I'm much more worried about the team being disjointed and never recovering from the total bubble implosion. The whole organization seems to have developed some sort of trust/insecurity/doubt complex and there's a general sense of alienation, which is also visible in Giannis's reluctance to extend. The desperation trade for Jrue, the exodus of role players and glue guys that had seemingly loved being on the Bucks, the weird silence about their collapse, all the signs of friction, the looming free agency of Giannis and Jrue, etc... I sense a lot of potential dysfunction.
Wut we've got here is... faaailure... to communakate.

Re: Bucks News, Trade Ideas, Transactions
On the court, Harden and Giannis' games are basically perfect for one another.
Off the court, it seems like a bad fit based on what we know of Harden but they could theoretically figure it out. Also think Harden would need to adjust his game or Bud would need to adjust his schemes but that part shouldn't be that much of an issue IMO.
I'd get Harden if I could in a heartbeat (provided Giannis wants it to happen) but again, I don't think we can realistically get him.

Re: Bucks News, Trade Ideas, Transactions
Both D’Antoni and Morey brought out bad aspects to Harden’s game then at the end he was basically having to do everything becoming unwatchable. We don’t need Harden to put up 40 shots to win and I doubt he wants that, probably a big reason he wants to.

Marc Lasry is a gambler and loves big names.
Unless Giannis says he doesn't want to play with Harden, or he wants to extend since he's so loyal to the team and players like Middleton, I imagine Lasry is at least taking the temperature. That could be through intermediaries (whether through Horst or Alex) or directly with Fertitta.
That and would Harden publicly add the Bucks to his list without being in text communication with Giannis? Even if it's a pure PR play it puts Giannis in a weird spot with Middleton just to have this out there.

God knows who Marc Lasry is talking to.
Looking back at how the Brogdon trade went down, if he was getting involved in a trade at that level, you have to believe he's involved with acquisitions like Jrue Holiday much less a superstar we might be targeting:

“I really believe when Herb talked to the owner of Milwaukee (Marc Lasry, co-owner of the Bucks) and they had a very open and honest discussion, both of them said ‘Let’s make this deal,’” Pritchard explained on Monday. “At the time, it went from 10 percent to 90 percent on that call.
“That’s something that I had never seen before in my life, but you can see how Herb has been so successful. He wants win-win deals. He was all about how to make this a win-win deal, something that Milwaukee can come away feeling good about, when they looked to their future, with the 1st round pick and two second (round selections).”

Re: Bucks News, Trade Ideas, Transactions
If Giannis or Harden could communicate to each other that they’d sign extensions if the other does then it justifies whatever price you’d have to pay.
Id do it without extensions agreed to yet, going down in a blaze of glory is way **** better than being cucks to big markets like the people pining to be like OKC. YOLO, **** it.

I would too but unfortunately the "whatever price you'd have to pay" probably still isn't enough to top what other teams will likely offer.

Probably but at the very least being aggressive will force Brooklyn/Philly/Miami to up theirs offers. The idea of Philly getting Harden without giving up Embiid or Simmons is sickening and I think we could beat that out. Fertitta will actually be looking to win now as opposed to to load up on picks at the latter part of this decade and tank. It’s a rare opportunity with a player of Hardens caliber and the ownership in Houston. Fertitta is desperate for playoff money.

If we do not get Harden, so be it. But we have to try really hard in my opinion.
Giannis Khris + Bled did not work, + Jrue may work. But Giannis Harden Jrue would be the best option.

Re: Bucks News, Trade Ideas, Transactions
Harden/Giannis PnR might be the most devastating play of all time lol. Like when you factor in the shooting threat Harden poses and the playmaking threat Giannis poses rolling to the basket it’s probably even more lethal than the Bron/AD PnR
I hate that there’s noise about it because it’s not happening and all it does is make me sad

If Horst had held his cards with Jrue he could have got it done
Giannis and Harden are the two most ridiculously defended players in the league, together would just be insanity.

I think the Bucks do have a leg up on the other teams on his list because Middleton gives the Rockets a win-now name they want to add. The Nets have to give up Kyrie to top that, the Sixers have to give up Simmons, and the Heat have to give up Butler. None of those are going to happen. Those teams will try to do the deal with young players and a boatload of picks to pair up Harden with Kyrie/Durant or Simmons/Embiid or Butler/Bam, but the Rockets' owner does not really care about acquiring assets as much as he cares about still having a competitive team.
Now if I were the Sixers, I would offer up Embiid to pair up Simmons with Harden, but they thankfully won't do that.

Re: Bucks News, Trade Ideas, Transactions
I still think the Sixers are absolutely crazy not to trade give up Simmons for him. Personally, I'd probably trade Embiid and cash him out before he gets hurt again. But I assume they view him as the cornerstone and Simmons would be the one to go. This resolves their Embiid/Simmons fit issues perfectly that has been discussed for two years now. Plus, if you're trying to get Harden without Simmons, well those two really don't fit together very well either. That would be a very clunky fit.
Resident Lillard truther since 2015.
