You guys can’t seriously think Middleton, Lopez, DDV, and no first rounders would land a MVP candidate in his prime, right?

No one thought Derozan would land Leonard. Crazier things have happened.

Houston seems to want to compete if I am not mistaken and I am high on Middleton and DDV, and not so high on Simmons, LeVert and some of those other guys in terms of perceived value.. There's only four teams on his list, so that needs to be taken into consideration. Also, those team's 1st rounders will likely be late firsts.

It's not necessarily "would" as it is "could".

I think the real crazy part is there's a lot of people on here that wouldn't trade Middleton, Lopez, and DDV with no first rounders for Harden.

Who has the better offer?

Miami with Hero whom they shouldn't deal and we've heard from Jimmy on this.

Philly? I'm not pairing Simmons with John Wall.

Nets? Do Durant and Kyrie want to play with Harden? I say no, but they might have better assess with 1st round picks if they have them.

I've seen GS packages here but I dont have the knowledge of their players.

If I'm Houston I'm at least listening to what the Bucks might have to offer around Khash and DDV because they fit well.

Assuming Simmons is off the table, Middleton could easily be the best player available for Harden. Houston asked for Kyrie or Durant which means that they have an interest in competing.

I’m not Middleton’s biggest fan, but I think he’s comfortably better than Kyrie. Post-Achilles, old man Durant? Hard to say, but moot point because the Nets aren’t trading him/either.

Yea if Philly won’t part with Simmons and Houston wants win now pieces the Bucks have a pretty unique opportunity. Middleton, Jrue, and Brook all become attractive pieces in this scenario, DDV and DJ as the prospects. Do we have any more moveable picks Or swaps in this next decade?

Ultimately, I think push comes to shove and Philly puts Simmons on the table and that gets it done. He's young, locked up long-term, and already an All-NBA caliber player. If he's offered, you take it and run IMO and start building around Simmons.

Other potential offers:

Miami: I would personally offer Butler if I were them. If all they're willing to offer is Herro, Nunn, Achiuwa, a couple 1sts, and cap filler (Iggy and Olynyk), I don't think that's enough but maybe I'll be proven wrong.

Brooklyn: If they aren't putting Kyrie on the table (which I don't expect them to do), you're talking LeVert, Dinwiddie, Allen, and picks. By all accounts Houston has no interest in that package so probably won't be that.

Our offer: Middleton, Brook, Donte for Harden and Tucker. If Philly, Miami, and Brooklyn all balk at Houston's asking prices, I guess this would by default be the best offer they get from one of Harden's four teams. In that event though, I think another team not on his list would swoop in. Some possibilities are:

Denver: Michael Porter, some combination of RJ Hampton, Bol Bol, and Zeke Nnaji), Gary Harris, Will Barton.

Portland: CJ McCollum, Zach Collins and Anfernee Simons (and potentially picks).

Golden State: Basically the same package people have been considering for Giannis if we trade him.

Only thing they could offer is 21 and 23 swaps which isn't much.

Its so silly to definitively declare what is or is not a good offer for Harden. Its all relative to how stubbornly he is willing to hold out, how sour the Houston fans and front office get, how many teams are on his trade list, etc. We don’t know any of that stuff. Because of his timing and dirtbag antics, I imagine he will go for much less than OKC got for Paul George. But we don’t know the current market.

Harden is a locker room cancer and one of the laziest players in the league. His defense is atrocious. He stops the ball and chucks away. Numbers are inflated from the D'antoni offense. We'd have to score 120/game to win because our defense would drop dramatically. Giannis would almost certainly leave, title or not.

I must be under rating Simmons. Which is certainly possible.

Harden's defense being atrocious is such a fallacy.

Right, nobody gives a **** about a swap from a team with 2 top 5 players.

This is exactly my logic as well. I don't think we may be first in the race, but I don't think we're last in the race either. It really is what Houston wants to do, and Middleton and DDV are actually great fits next to Wall. They can run, shoot, and defend. And you have them for the next 4+ years.
