lot of good performances through the first game from this class

Patrick Williams looked really good

Poku looked really good too for OKC.

Vassell was all over the place as well.

It def felt like a draft that the best few players might not be the top 3 guys.

Seems like a lot of quality guys, but no real superstar

I mean, as of right now. Lot can change in a few years.

Yeah agreed I don't think we will see superstars. But I think because of that people were underrating the class because there wasn't that "franchise" changer. But I think we will have a some really good players...maybe 2nd or 3rd type players on really good teams.

Which is why he will leave when he becomes an unrestricted free agent.

Also: Portis: 14pt-13reb. Candidate to be a significant player on a team to win the ring.

I always thought Bobby Portis was a better fit with the Knicks than Julius Randle because of his 3 point shooting.

You're absolutely right. I still think Randle is a good player, probably .. meh .. a little .. actually .. really somewhat better than Portis abstractly, but not a great fit on this Knicks team, whereas Portis might have been.

In any case, I'm all for hoping ex-Knicks thrive in their future endeavours (assuming they put an appropriate shift in - as Bobby did).

Poku's going to be the KP of this class .. more than 50% of the time. Teams that didn't take him are going to look insanely stupid .. but there is no punishment for not restricting vision to college bball.

Ditto Theo. Why the **** did he fall to #33?

I'm a Terry believer. He's going to work out fine. Belief. :D

There will be so many good rotation players from this draft some of them high end ones even if there turn out to be no high end stars. Just got home and will be looking at some recap vids to see them.

I kept saying in those "draft a #number" threads that Theo was a better prospect than Hayes.

I mean, the French national team, who have been monitoring them both since they were 14, have Theo way ahead of Hayes.

Obviously that's not "proof". They could be wrong. They could want players who fit a system. Etc. Etc. But it's something to think about when one guy is a #7 pick and the other guy doesn't go in the first round. Because one has a US father and the other doesn't.

But Kobe ... :-?

On the other hand, Hayes has to play his first two pre-season games being guarded by Frank. So obviously he's going to look like **** anyway. :D
