Raptors are hoarding point guards that can defend and shoot threes. There is like a 20 year window of similar point guards succeeding each other.

Only concern is that out bench consists of 4/5 players who are pretty undersized when played together (Flynn, Thomas, Davis, Powell and sadly Mccaw).
We already have an undersized starting backcourt. Does anyone have concerns that we will be too undersized or have too few minutes for some of these guys?
I want to trade Powell ASAP. Would like a 1st pick and expiring whatever.
Also don't want Oladipo any more as we have younger healthier options at SG.
Powell looked like trash tonight. Need him to get hot this season like last year. Sell high not low.

We're about to trade for Harden with Malachi Flynn as the centrepiece of the offer.

Re: Malachi Flynn
I said it before tonight but Flynn is the key to preserving Kyle. Lower his minutes and run him with the bench. Fred/Malachi can be the two PG lineup that runs with the starters so you take pressure off Kyle and stabilize the bench. Will also allow us to lower his minutes like I mentioned.
Let Malachi be the PnR floor general he was in college. He is capable and he'll only be unlocked with guys like Baynes/OG/Pascal setting screens for him.

Flynn looked very promising and I definitely trust Masai but I still wish we selected Maledon. That kid is going to be special.

interesting pattern...getting solid rotational players late in the draft because they're older
Its so smart if they pan out (which they usually do for us). After their rookie deal we can lock em up in their prime years.

Next season when he re-signs for the MLE for 5 years as his retirement plan.
Just cut Lowry's minutes to like 28 per game as a starter. No reason to start Flynn until years down the road unless he outplays Kyle. Just like FVV not starting until his 4th year. Keep him in check so don't have to pay him the max like Fox (he can't shoot well from 3).

Yup it's such an outdated mentality that you need go after younger guys because they have "more upside". Stupid.
Thankfully our FO has their heads on straight. I think Bobby's Economics degree is the real winner here.

Anyone find it weird Flynn tilts his head back when shooting the 3? Kind of like Giannis. Our shooting coach should correct that.

We don't need to preserve Kyle. We should play him as much as he wants. Fred and Flynn, ideally, is our pg duo for the 3 years after this season. Who knows...maybe Flynn overachieves and our pipedream starting 5 is Flynn, Fred, OG, Siakam, Giannis.
I don't get the complaints about our small backcourt. It's landed us in the top 3 two years in a row.

Re: Malachi Flynn
His defense is legit, and I like how he just makes the right plays on offense, doesn't force anything but is still aggressive when he sees a decent opportunity.
Only 1 pre-season game, but damn he looked good.

Re: Malachi Flynn
He won DPOTY in his conference as a guard. I knew he would be special, I legitmately thought he would be reached for like Stewart was. It was a no brainer for Masai. I thought Maledon was going to drop and I wanted to trade up for him because of his length and ball play. Flynn's IQ and ball play are miles ahead of Maledon and he will never reach that degree of experience. It will take a long time.
However, it's abundantly obvious that Masai wants value contracts and to secure developed prospects in their prime sooner. It also increases the chance of hometown retaining. These prospects know we took a chance on them and developed them in the best system in the NBA. It could lead to loyalty.

He shot 3 for 6, maybe he added it this summer and he shoots 40% for 3. Maybe it raises his posture and a better view with the ball and basket? If it ain't broke don't fix it.

Maledon looks like SGA 2.0 with the way he gets to the bucket. OKC looks like they are tanking the right way and seemed to have also hit on Pokusevski. A couple more seasons of tanking will get them to be contenders. If they get Cade Cunningham look out! They need to trade multiple picks to secure Cunningham. Let other teams draft Suggs and Jalen Green.
Then in 2022 secure 1 of Chet Holmgren, Emoni Bates or Wembenyama.
PG Maledon - SGA
SG SGA - Hill
SF Cunningham - Dort
PF Holmgren - Roby
C Pokusevski - Horford
Just happy that the Clippers drafted Oturu 1 spot ahead of Maledon.

Dude is a stud.
High IQ, excellent shooter, can drive and kick, makes the right reads, can run a pick and roll, very quick and scrappy defensively.
His one weakness will be finishing around the rim, but he can contribute right away.
I would be very disappointed if Nurse has McCaw ahead of Flynn on the depth chart.

Yeah I don't see the goal as preserving Kyle, as I think the more important factor of this transition year is to develop our talent (rookies and bench) and to showcase our contracts/trade assets (FVV, Norm and OG). Which may mean the same thing: reducing Kyle's minutes.
The case for taking a safe pick in Flynn I see as a hedge for next year's pipedream, which isn't the potentially slightly better than the current Bucks lineup you put up there.
It's more for the off chance that we have 3 max contract all stars on the team making us a top tier contender, with no Fred/Lowry, and if we can't find a competent ring chasing PG, Flynn could be playing major minutes as a sophomore.
