I just got finished watching the game again and I forgot they had cut the game short because I didn't remember watching McDaniels hit two threes. So that means that McDaniels is a legend because he scored 6 magical points when noone was watching. You know how you hear all those great stories about how people do things on the court? Well this is his story. lol.

McDaniels is a keeper. He is one of the few players in the league that can play 4 1/2 positions (not quite PG) and do a decent job of it on both ends. Good insurance piece

Lmaoooooo, he will improve as season goes on. He had a really good statistical game 3-7 shooting, 2-3 3 pts, 16 mins played, 9 pts, 5 rebs. I am not much into stats tho but he will improve a bit. Wont ever be a star tho but improve.

I like that McDaniels did most of his scoring towards the END of the game so maybe he was a bit rusty starting out. I think around game 20 or so he will be averaging

35 ppg
25 reb
15 ast

in only 10 mins per game played

and we will all regret 2nd guessing him.

Lol, give him about 10 games of at least 10 mins or more per game and he will show more. He is NOT gonna be Kevin Garnett lol but I think he could be a somewhat bright spot on THIS team.

Going 3-7, 2-3 3pts, 9 pts, 5 reb, in16 mins played.

can't be THAT bad even tho I am not that into stats and shouldn't be. Over the course of 32 mins per game that averages out to

18 ppg, 10 rebs.

Not that into stats but he should improve. It wouldnt' surprise me if after 20 games we would rather him starting over either PJ or ZELLER.

One thing about it is just about everyone played poorly on our team but McDaniels was one of if not the only one who played poorly but who did so and put up good stats.

Remember how we had Christian Wood? Remember how we wanted back Christian Wood? I think we keep McDaniels if we know what's good for us.

LOL Christian Wood another player I LOVE and wanted to draft btw. Yes I think McDaniels can improve (which he has done both game wise by being called up from G league and by adding weight). I don't think he will be a really good player but could be highly respected. He also has the ability to play multiple positions so if he can't be out SF maybe he can become our Center.

Also we can go SUPER BIG.

PG - Ball
SG - McDaniels
SF - PJ
PF - Zeller
C - Biz

This of course would be just in SPOTS or maybe for long periods depending on how it works. McDaniels can play SG. He is a project. Although he is a project I am not projecting him to be good lol. But it's good that he is at least a project

If you don't think he'll be good can you stop talking about him?

I meant to include the word necessarily in there lol. I think he CAN be good, but I am not projecting him to be GOOD GOOD GOOD just GOOD lol. But he can be better than good.

So to sum it up, I think the potential is there to be good but probably not great.

It looks like McDaniels has talent. He is just too raw or uncoordinated still to be able to use it to good effect in the NBA.

amcoolio wrote:What if McDaniels was our best center all along

Just looked it up, his standing reach is only .5" worse than Zeller and 1" worse than PJ. Hes not quite a center, but none of these three actually have quite enough length for a center and playing him at the forward position could really help make up for us not really having a true center. I'm really interested in how this experiment plays out the rest of the season.

He’s 180lbs soaking wet and he’s not an athletically, springy freak.

He’s not a centre.

McDaniels is playing more confident. Finishing decent at the rim and hitting those corner threes. Granted the competition lately has been sub par, but this is a great confidence boost for a guy like that at the right time. What I noticed the last two games in particular that stood out in a big way for McDaniels was how active he was passing the ball. In the past, he’d get the ball and try to take a low % shot and now he’s whipping that ball around and often gets it back with a clean shot or lane. Good stuff.

I still see him as a potential Marv - just younger and more hyper.

Some clever scoring abilities, some good D and surprise shot blocking, like Rich said above a willing passer and those corner 3's.

Deceptively athletic as well.
