It's always been like this. We've always had the biggest fanbase on this site, followed by the Lakers. Every season there's a bunch of new ballboys making the rest of us look bad.

Hmm, idk I don't recall it being this absurd and aggressive on the General board. Maybe in Raps related topics but like... an end of the first round guy after one preseason game?

On the Raps board sure, on the general board that's kind of just disrespectful to the rest of the teams. Obviously every team has one of those, that's basically a second rounder.

I don't know it's been intense lately. Raps fans always had the most fans when NY isn't good on this board but it really seems to have gone out of control the past couple of years in regard to constant threads on the General board being made.

It's because our young players keep hitting and turning into solid rotational players/starters. People truly believe in our scouting and player developmental team to get the most of the players we draft.
Don't think this would be happening if we didn't have Masai and all our young players developing the way they do with such late picks. Even our so called huge bust Bruno is still in the league and just had a great game 17pts 7rebs 3blks going 5 for 8 from three.

That makes sense.

Raps have been having some of the best home grown depth in the league and it's propelled a team that's been underpowered to much greater heights in the regular season than expected.

And it'll do it again this year too. Really turning out a ton of NBA rotational level talent year after year (bench through all-star level) whether they stay or go and that's EXTREMELY hard to do.

Why exactly is it disrespectful? The OP isn't suggesting all other teams rookies suck. I don't think the thread was necessary after one preseason game but the Raptors have a history of finding gems late in the first and second rounds. There's also a thread about the Lakers rookie. Both teams have recently won a championship so there will unfortunately be a bit of gloating by both fanbases, like it or not.

I mean we’re talking about Raptor fans here. They’re all about overreactions based on 1 game.
If he struggles next game, they’ll be complaining that he was chosen over some other guy who had a good game.

Literally nobody said this. Or maybe one person did and you think that represents “people”

However siakam was an all star starter and made all nba 2nd team without Kawhi. Not too shabby for a late 1st round pick that was compared to Hollis Jefferson 2 years ago.

Did we see how good Flynn is, or how bad LaMelo's defense is?
Or a little bit of both?

He is the splitting image basketball wise of Beno Udrih, which is what I think his potential is. What a pick by the Raptors!

Jesus Christ, you're gonna make us hate the dude before his career even starts.

Stop rambling ad nauseam about every Raptors pick during the preseasons and summer leagues.

+35 tho with next best being +22. And it looked well earned.

Using +/- in isolation is Skip Bayless type insight. Lift your game
