If raps make the playoffs, it be considered an outstanding job
Delusional...Raptors are regular season gods, they're projected by RPM to finish 2nd in the east again.
The raps are also very good in the playoffs. Losing to a good team in the final minutes of game 7, after an easy sweep in round 1, is not a bad performance.

Lowkey, theyve been amazing at drafting late picks for a few years now. Caruso, Zubac, THT, Kuzma (for a 25th pick or so, he's fine).
Theyve actually been a very competent FO since Pelinka took over/Magic got the boot

^^Maybe for Embiid? Raps might need a big guy like Len. Other reason is similar to Noel; Giles has injury concerns?

To be fair before the Achillies Durant was a iron man and often healthy every season...He took extra long to give his injury time to heal so yeah i see him being fine this year...As for Irving he looks really good so far also looks like he been training his body looks more built and stronger...
Now if they are healthy who is beating them in the East this year?....No team in the East has a scorer on Irvings level let alone KD who is on another planet as a scorer....Giannis can score but he is not a "Scorer" Maybe Butler but hes still not on Irvings level as a scorer...
And in the playoffs you need guys that can score the ball on their own...That is why we failed so badly last year cause we lost our scorer in Kawhi and the Nets have 2 of the best Scorers we seen in this generation added with a deep team
1) The Nets are going against the Wizards bench squad...Beal, Westbrook and Bertans aren't playing, lol.
2) Durant hasn't been an iron man. In 2015 he missed almost the entire season, in 2017 he missed 20 games and in 2018 he missed 15 games. He's been fairly injury prone since 2015, but was lucky to play on the most stacked team of all time for 3 years where he didn't have to play heavy minutes or overexert himself. Kyrie is also injury prone, a bad defender, and not a good facilitator.
Question, do you think think the current version of Durant and Kyrie is better than Durant and the 2016 version of Westbrook? If Durant and prime Westbrook couldn't win, what makes you think that Durant and Kyrie are the automatic favorites?
Ok thats all cute and everything but at the end of the day if and when the playoffs come around and Kyrie/Durant are both healthy and playing to their capabilities then you throw in the rest of that Nets squad who we played last year and were very scrappy against us without them 2 superstars....I am putting my money on the Nets to win a 7 game series against anyone in the east...
Im not putting my Money on Celtics or that Miami team, Not going to put my money on the Sixers, Bucks will have another underwhelming playoffs...And we the Raptors would not have enough offensive firepower to win considering we lost to the Celtics last year and we lost Ibaka....
So yeah my money is on the Nets to come out the East and its not even really close

KD and Irving looked good. If healthy, not the team you want to face early in the playoffs.

That's assuming KD and Irving are both healthy for the playoffs. Hopefully they are but we shall see.

We really messed up not getting him he is the perfect type of high risk high reward guy that would work under our team
But the whole Ibaka situation dragged on for too long

1) The Nets actually performed better with Kyrie out of the line up much like the Celtics performed better with Kyrie out of the line-up.
2) As I said, what did Durant and prime Westbrook (who was better than Kyrie in 2016) with a supporting cast of prime Ibaka (best shot blocker in the league), Stephen Adams, Oladipo etc. do?
3) The Nets without their two superstars against us got absolutely destroyed in 3 out of 4 games in one of the most lopsided sweeps in recent memory. One game they lost by 24, the other by 25 and the last game we won by 28 points and had a record 100+ points from our bench in an almost record 150 point game. You call that a scrappy series against us?
Da fuq you smoking bro?
On paper they look nice, but on paper doesn't mean **** if the fit isn't there. Harden and Westbrook look incredible on paper but they didn't work. Paul, Deandre, and Blake looked incredible but never even made it passed the 2nd round. Kyrie and Durant are nice, but I don't think they are a great fit and I don't see them as championship material. Yeah they could do some damage in the playoffs but I don't see them making the finals.
Durant also will find out it's not so easy when he doesn't have the two best shooters and unselfish players in NBA history on his team opening up the entire floor for him. He won't be as happy when a high usage, iso-oriented, weak defensive player like Kyrie isn't giving you winning intangibles.
You sound like you started watching the NBA in 2017.

Gasol looked good last night, hitting backdoor cutters with great passes from the high post. He is really going to help the Lakers.
There goes my hero. Watch him as he goes.

but ya i get you, we'll beat up on crappy teams but get killed by good teams
Ironic that the Nets beat the Wizards (one of the worst defensive teams in the league last year) who were also missing arguably their 3 most important offensive players.
Not saying Brooklyn shouldn't be a top team, but pump the brakes. They have one of the best duos in the league and solid depth, but health is going to be a major concern. I'm also unsure of how all of their pieces will fit. Kyrie, Dinwiddie and LeVert all thrive with the ball in their hands, and Durant could fit in that category too.

The Bucks are going to win the East again if the Giannis rumours don’t completely meltdown the team locker room. Jude Holiday is a huge upgrade from Bledsoe and Bud is great at producing regular season wins.

What about DeRozan dawg?!?!

Lmao you are obviously a troll and a bad one at that....You saying all this **** bringing down Irving as well cause its the popular thing to do "**** on Irving" ....But act like he didnt hit the clutch shots to win the Cavs a Chip....
You also saying all this **** but never once give me a team that will actually be better then the Nets in the East when its playoffs time...Who are you taking? Tatum and Brown? ....Ben Simmons and Embiid? Butler and Bam?.....I mean you sound like a salty dude hating on Durant + Irving for no reason cause you have some hate for the Nets i guess....
But if you actually think the Raptors will come out the east this year (Which you probably do) you are delusional af...We are a solid team and fun to watch but come playoff time we will be a 2nd round exit again....
Durant is one of the GOAT scorers the league has ever seen, Nets have firepower off the bench as well....
You say Irving is bad player right but that is only because hes been trying to be "The Man" for the last few seasons which he is clearly not that type of player but with Durant now on his team he does not have to be that guy anymore...LeBron James and Irving worked out pretty nicely if my memory serves me correct...
You say all this **** but name me one team better then the Nets in the East this year? go on
1) I never said that the Raptors are going to come out of the East. I don't think the Raptors will come out of the East but will be very competitive as we are an elite team defensively.
2) I never denied that Kyrie is an exceptional player in isolation basketball and pure scoring. However, Kyrie isn't a great facilitator, he's weak defensively, doesn't make his teammates better, isn't high IQ etc. Yes, Kyrie is a great 2nd option with Lebron, who at his prime was the biggest freak of a player we've ever seen, a monster defensively and arguably the best facilitator in the league. The Cavaliers also had a perennial all-star stretch 5 in Kevin Love who opened up the game as well.
Durant is a good but not a great defender, he's high usage, isn't a great passer. Yes, Durant is one of the greatest scorers in NBA history, but I do not like the fit of him and Kyrie. Fit matters in this league. Yes, Durant was god-like with the Warriors, but that's because he played with two exceptional off-ball shooters who were unselfish and could sacrifice. Curry and Klay are the biggest cheat codes in the league that draw crazy attention. I think people forget the playoff struggles Durant had with OKC before joining the Warriors.
So, I never said Kyrie was a "bad" player, and I never denied Durant is one of the greatest scorer ever.
It's not my fault you can't read properly or comprehend what my argument was.
Nets are a contender in the East for sure but I don't like the fit offensively and they are not great defensively. They will be competitive but I really don't see them getting past the Bucks, Celtics or Sixers if healthy. Those teams have long, versatile defenders and size that can give the Nets serious issues. Additionally, you fail to acknowledge that in addition to Kyrie being an absolute headcase, he's also injury prone. KD is also coming an Achilles injury. These aren't durable iron men players who usually play full seasons.
In any event you can't tell me the Nets will "steamroll" the East as you said. Are they a competitive team? Yes. Do I think they will make the finals? No.
Tip: Actually read what I wrote instead of just making **** up that I never said.
Also, if you found my posts from previous years I said that both Westbrook/George and Westbrook/Harden were bad fits. I was correct on both. Westbrook/George couldn't get out of the 1st round, losing to lower seeds, and Westbrook/Harden got steamrolled by the Lakers. I see Durant and Irving to be a similarly bad fit - two isolation, high usage scorers who aren't great defensively.
