At the spot we are going to be picking at, Bryce Thompson is going to be a steal.

Not great stats, so far.

I'm very impressed with Moses Moody of Arkansas - was overlooked in HS playing with Cade Cunningham, Scottie Barnes, and another bigger-name player - their team Montverde was called one of the greatest HS teams ever. Rivals had him ranked as the 55th best recruit in the nation, ESPN had him at 45. Just 18.5.

https://www.basketball-reference.com/international/players/alperen-sengun-1.html

Alperen Sengun is an 18 year old prospect putting up great numbers in Turkey in his 1st 12 games this season. A 6'9 230 lb center/PF. Not regarded as a good athlete, but when a player produces at a great rate at only 18, it's important to take notice. Not a 3 point shooter yet but making 70% of his 2's and 82% of his FT's. His offensive rebounding #'s stick out.

Garuba could be our next year’s version of Okongwu. An undersized athletic center who excels in defense and has solid IQ.

That's EXACTLY what I was thinking. Impressive looking player, seems to have a lot of the attributes that I wanted Okongwu for.

USMAN GARUBA !!!!

https://nbadraftroom.com/p/2021-nba-mock-draft/

He is my early favorite for the Wizards draft 2021!

BLEACHER REPORT:
12. Usman Garuba (Real Madrid, PF/C, 2002)

Garuba had been struggling offensively before hitting three three-pointers last weekend against Unicaja Malaga. He's still just 18 years old and seeing regular minutes in the Spanish ACB and EuroLeague. He'll never be valued for scoring, but for a 6'8", 220-pound big, he sets himself apart with his passing and defensive IQ.

NBA DRAFTROOM:
FROM: Spain HT: 6-8 WT: 230
BORN: 3/09/02 YEAR: 02 WING: 7-2

Draft Notes
Usman is a powerful, mobile and graceful athlete who has awesome length with a +6 wingspan and a nice NBA frame.

He’s a high energy guy (think Kenneth Fareid) who runs the floor hard, sets good screens and brings a lot of energy on defense. He’s a smart defender who knows when to leave his feet and how to play with proper position. He plays with good awareness and is a good help defender and weak-side shot blocker.

His current offensive game is mostly dunks, layups and back to the basket moves but he shows promise of a mid range and outside shot.

He does a good job in the pick and roll and cuts hard to the basket, using his brute power, strength and agility to get to the basket. His length is a big factor in the lane, making him a dangerous offensive rebounder.

The rest of his offensive game is young but he shows flashes of ball handling, passing and perimeter shooting.

Garuba is a likely lottery pick in the 2021 NBA Draft and should be able to contribute early in his career.

Comparisons
Al Horford
a very wealthy man’s Kenneth Faried

Garuba's been talked about as a potential top prospect for a couple of years - even though he's still just 18. Hard to say that he'll ever develop into much of an offensive player. I'm not sure he's even an Achiuwa level player, but let's see how he develops this season.

Suggs = stud. It really shows that he was a big-time football quarterback. Love that Gonzaga backcourt of Suggs and Ayayi.

From having watched a good deal of Garuba (both at Real
Madrid and junior Spanish national teams) I would say he is much more polished than Achiuwa was last season. And Garuba is like 3 years younger!

Garuba is a PERFECT fit for this team! I think he is EXACTLY what this team needs and could be the missing piece to the puzzle. My ideal scenario this off-season is we draft Garuba and he replaces Lopez on the roster.

Brad needs to go down with an....”injury” next game. Would sure be a shame if it lasted all season long.

Jalen Suggs say out of tonight’s game due to injury. I wonder if he is having residual issues after he suffered what I thought was a rupture of his Achilles.

Gotta keep watch on him.
Bye bye Beal.

In addition to GARUBA , another player i like for the Wizards potentially In this draft is Trayce Jackson-Davis.

Good chance to watch him tomorrow night when Indiana plays Maryland on BTN.

Dude’s so dark I cannot see him well for the background.

I might never refer to myself as a black man again. Nah, he’s a real black man.
Bye bye Beal.

I know nothing of him. But looking at those pictures, I had terrible flashbacks to O face Jared Jefferies
