How can we NOT retire LeBron's jersey number ?
If he leaves before 2023 worst case scenario without another championship that would be ourselves who trades him. Not him. I mean if we trade him bc he falls off is that his fault really? He's in the twilight of his career. We brought him in at this stage.

The best look for the lakers going forward is to eventually retire the old man's number who we brought in,

he guaranteed to Jeanie that he will bring championship-level ball again to our club,

When Kobe died he dedicated this season to him ,

He and AD took the team on their shoulders and won the championship

That short stint alone is worth retiring 23. You just don't Don't do that;.. it will make a bad look for the front office.

It is the best and most diplomatic and most gracious thing to do for one of the most magical (although grave due to kobe&gianna) seasons in our laker history.
You don't let that one pass awayy. And in 40 years if no one remembers LeBron on this team and they see that number up in the rafters and ask why.. the old can tell them the magical reason why we retired his number. You don't let this one fade.

But that is all hypothetical worst case scenario where he leaves /gets traded before 2023.
Kobe Bryant forever
GO LAKERS
8-)
I've heard it through the grapevine..NBA gods have already designated Los Angeles LAKERS as NBA Champions in near future. The destiny is real. TRUST ME.

With 1 championship and a short stay, it wasn't a sure thing for me. Sealed the deal with the extension though

The answer is yes. He was the first domino to get us out of a 7 year playoff drought. He was the catalyst behind the AD trade. He lead us to our first Championship after Kobe retired. And honestly, having him speak and take on the challenge of speaking and winning after Kobe's death matters. The organization went through something extremely difficult on January 26th and LeBron was the face of the organization that came out and spoke to the crowd that night against Portland.

He could retire tomorrow and he'd be up there.

If everything ended this year, and he booked it. Then no. But since he extended.. there's no way he won't earn a jersey retirment.
