It's silly really. We could have made a move at any point in time in the last 2 years. But we elected to sit on our hands for two years before blowing our full load on Jrue. I'd like to think that we carefully weighed our options and pounced when an opportunity too good to give up presented itself. More likely than not though we just panicked.

I'm not at all opposed to trading future picks - even unprotected. I'm actually in favor. If you control your own destiny, trading future picks is a calculated risk that more often than not is worthwhile.

I really hope Jrue works out here and gets us to the point Giannis signs an extension. But if we ever get to this point we need to be better. The NBA is shrewd and every team at the top is trying to gain an edge on another. To get to there and stay there we need to be ready to take opportunities that are presenting themselves even if they don't align with the grand plan we (hopefully) have.
