Again, if Giannis leaves, why would anyone want to continue being a Bucks fan? They only get a player this talented every 50 years. No reason to wait around. Either retire from being an NBA fan and free up a bunch of time spent watching games and typing on this board, or pick a new team for whatever reason suits you (just as players do all the time).

Pelicans seem like a fun up and coming team with a star to watch (Zion) and a bunch of potentially really good draft picks coming up in the next few years ;-)

Or pick whatever team you want for whatever reason. If the team messes this up and he bolts, don't fret about those picks, move on. Jrue can opt out and so can you.

My Bucks fandom is reeling...but the reader in me thinks this is simply amazing. You couldn't write this kind of tightly-plotted tragedy if you tried. It's perfect. Giannis doesn't want to stay, the front office makes this kind of trade to try and convince him, he leaves anyway.

It's the kind of story that calls for an epilogue (few actually do, but this one does).

It's raining in Seattle today. It's always raining in Seattle. Not the kind of rain most non-residents picture when they think of it, buckets pouring down relentlessly. Rather, the omnipresent mist settled over the region, familiar and comforting.

No one in the crowds along Mercer Avenue and going straight through to downtown seemed to mind all that much, and most actually seemed to like it. Said that it was fitting for the moment.

They came here in 2026, seeking shelter from the storm. Bereft a superstar, the previous owners turned a tidy sum giving us back what never should have been taken. It didn't take long for the Sonics to recapture the hearts and minds of the Emerald City, and just three years later the city celebrates its first NBA Championship in 40 years.

Khris Middleton, playing out the string of his career for the veterans' minimum, told the Seattle Times that winning a championship "means everything to me. I've had a good career, and had to overcome a lot of adversity. I used to play in the Bradley Center." He announced his retirement before leaving the podium.

Made me miss living in Seattle reading that

I miss it too, man. If the Bucks ever do relocate there I'll probably have to move back and be that one guy who is always outside of the ostensibly-named Amazon Arena in my Milwaukee gear and shouting at people about how two wrongs don't make a right.

The inability of the media to be at Fiserv Forum makes it a bit tough to get any real reporting. Normally you’d have people remarking what Lasry and Edens are up to tonight.

The amount of free time I will have if Giannis leaves without compensation is gonna be crazy.

I believe your way of thinking is very wrong my good friend.

We were not going to win with last year team, all of us wanted something better, not Giannis only, did Giannis said them give 3 first round picks to get Holiday?

Its not about Giannis man, so what if Giannis said them i cant win with the last year team? Is it wrong to admit he is not Lebron or Jordan?
I believe you undervalue the competition and overvalue the players that we had. just my opinion.

Middleton winning a title and having something interesting to say on some Philip K. Dick ish

I could’ve been sold on the bubble just uprooting the season, though things were trending south before that. I think the prudent move would’ve been to keep the squad mostly intact and upgrade the point guard position. Holiday > Bledsoe, but I think there had to be other options to upgrade without having to play Russian roulette with any remaining assets you had.

Which one? And where was it headed?

The Jackson Hole Jet was Wes Edens coming in from this place.

VooDoo was definitely posting during the game reiterating that Giannis is signing. I wasn't even paying attention to the forum or the game and I saw that.

What kind of update are people expecting from them at this point? They've said he's signing and it's a matter of when, not if. At this point, the only real update you're going to get is them saying "Welp, just heard he's changed his mind" (which, let's be honest, they aren't going to say) or we'll hear from Woj/Haynes/O'Connor or whatever that Giannis is officially signing. There isn't really anything left for them to say at this point.
