Since the contract has to be signed by the 21st (per league deadline), I'm assuming the Bucks and Giannis have to come clean one way or the other by the 22nd. They can't just sit on the news and say no comment, can they? I'd imagine someone like Woj will obtain the news from league sources. I just want this nightmare to be over soon.

Voodoo, I'm sure this was asked before, but are you confident about Giannis signing the supermax deal specifically, or a shorter term contract in general? If it's the latter, I can see this nightmare playing out for months. :banghead:

Knowing how Silver operates, I would send the contract a day sooner. He'll probably challenge whether or not Giannis's signature is authentic.

The problem with a 2+1 deal is that it doesn't have to be signed by the 21st. Even if Giannis has given the Bucks a verbal commitment to sign a shorter term deal between now and next summer, we're still one major injury from him changing his mind.

Yeah, it would have to go to NBA Legal and players association. There are a lot of leaks there and where a lot of salary information comes from.
