Re: Giannis Thread - 6 Days To Go
What do people think reloading ACTUALLY looks like when it comes to a Giannis deal? Do we not realize we may potentially have to wait decades for another opportunity like we have this season, and people want to just up and jump ship on that?

I don't really buy the Reddit stuff, but if you do, someone commented on that thread saying that Giannis already bought his new house and that the seller had to sign an NDA so that he wouldn't spill the beans until after the supermax announcement and he says the NDA expires tomorrow or Thursday lol
Not a realtor, but I don't think that kind of stuff is that uncommon with celebrities.
It is. I deal with this stuff fairly regularly. I mean, as much as there are any "celebrities" in Milwaukee.

May be upgrading within River Hills. In terms of commute and solitude/privacy, there is no upgrade from River Hills in Wisconsin.

There is nothing updated on the MLS that would lead one to believe there is a house in contract currently assuming a price > 2M. There are a couple but they are relatively modest, not sure how much of an upgrade they would be.
There are a couple 6.5M+ estates available one in River Hills, one in WF Bay.

We could wait decades....or it could easily be 3-5 years...you never know. It's a game of luck and timing. Whatever the case, If Giannis doesn't sign, I'm moving him for assets. Complete teardown and re-build.

If Giannis says he's leaving next summer, absolutely I'm punting. The Holiday trade all but forced the Bucks to do so.

I would guess we'd ultimately be deciding between trade packages along the likes of:
1. Ben Simmons if we're lucky and Philly thinks they can convince Giannis to re-sign.
2. Wiseman + Wiggins and filler (which I'd personally hate)
3. Tyler Herro and filler (which I would take over Wiseman but would probably still rather lose Giannis for nothing).
Giannis is obviously (to me) better than Harden and also significantly younger, but I think Houston's struggles to get a competitive offer for Harden kinda point to how tricky it will be for us if we opt to do the same.
There's no team out there like the Lakers were for Davis that are both a major contender to re-sign Giannis while also having a lot of young prospects that they're willing to trade/feel the urgency to trade. Assuming Giannis is considering the teams that the media has led us to believe are under consideration, I guess the closest comparison to the Lakers package would be Miami, but they don't have an Ingram-level prospect to offer (assuming Bam is off the table which I strongly believe is the case). Herro is probably closer to a Lonzo-level prospect (at the time; obviously Lonzo has stagnated a bit since then) than he is to Ingram IMO.
I guess we'll see what happens if Giannis hasn't signed by the time the season begins, but I don't think we'll seriously consider trading him and I don't think any team will make an offer seriously worth considering either.
I know others feel differently though.
Edit: I do assume picks would be involved in all of those packages, just don't care to dig into which picks might be on the table and I don't think any of them are really premium picks either (and yes, that includes the Minnesota pick).

If I recall, the Rev. Darrell Hines at one point had a house in River Hills with an indoor basketball court. Not sure if he still owns that, but that would be the house Giannis would be trying to buy. Under the assumption the guy on Reddit isn't full of it.

breaking up a 65 win team isnt either. so were at a staIemate
You can't just ignore how the team was beaten in the playoffs though.
is that players or system? and how much of a role does a 25yo inexperienced star play in that. doesnt continuity and trust and experience have a role? or do small sample sizes and instant gratification now rule the day always?
look at the path and even evolution of dallas from 2000-2012.....with less talent than our teams the last two years have had. they stayed the course with the core of that team including some pretty bad playoff outs. the older they got the worse they were in the reg season but the continuity and experience made them better come playoff time.

There's lots of 'em. Jim Kacmarcik has one too. Maybe Giannis will buy that house. That's a much worse commute though.

Giannis could do an Abele and buy a house because he likes the location, raze it, build something new and design it however he wants.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

The motive to keep this quiet for this long makes no sense to me.
Unless Giannis is also working with FO to give his brother a 2-year/$20M extension.

While were on the topic of real estate, one of my coworkers said he heard from a MKE wealth management guy that works with multiple Bucks that Giannis was also looking for lake property in WI. Just another far out there tea leaf that would point to him staying. Obviously it has 0% credibility which is why I haven't said anything, but I figured it's worth mentioning now that we're monitoring potential real estate transactions to help us sleep at night. If that's true I'd really like to get second place on that same lake to jetski with the Antetokounmbros.

Re: Giannis Thread - 6 Days To Go
Best Trade is PHX or GSW.
GSW: Wiseman, Oubre, Green/Wiggs, 2021 Swap, 2021 MN Pick, 2022 Unprotected, 2023 Swap
PHX: Ayton, Johnson, Bridges, 2021 pick, 2022 swap, 2023 pick.
Jrue, Midds, Brook all get traded.
I don't want to touch Bam or Herro. Screams 7th/8th seed. If we re-build let's actually re-build. 2021/2022 drafts are loaded.

Rebuilding when we don't own our draft picks is the worst scenario I can think of. I'd set a reminder on my calendar to check back in on the Bucks in a few years.

That address in River Hills doesn't really scream I just signed a 200M contract.

There is such a contrast between the jubilation this board would feel if Giannis extends as opposed to the despair entering into the foreseeable future without him -- especially now that there is so little use posting tank gifs.
