See I think lack of size becomes a problem when you aren't a pull up threat. It hasn't bothered Kyle all that much. Fred is fine with space but I don't think he is a natural pull up PnR threat. Malachi Flynn has demonstrated that he indeed is. That threat will make defenders jump up on him and that will open up the floor for him, despite the elite size

The size issue is more about the lineup than the individual player. I think it is best to have 3 ball-handlers on the floor, or creators as we are calling them. When Pascal sits the only way to have 3 creators is playing 3 small guards.

This is exactly how I feel about this kid. I'm going to go and watch some of the top picks over the next couple of days.

Edwards looks bad (he can't shoot)
Ball looks bad (game 1: 4 assists/4 tos, game 2: 2 assists / 3 tos)
Hayes looks bad (he can't shoot)

Okoro looks like OG
Toppin looks like Amare
Avdija shoots well, doesn't look overmatched may be Lauri Markannen 2.0?

If anything he reminds me of DJ Augustin - style and stature..not to mention steady with a decent jump shot.

I like DJ. But I’d actually be disappointed if Flynn ends up on that level.

Also Flynn looks to be a much better defender than DJ has ever been.

I guess prime Augustin is a good start for his rookie year.

Future starting PG, we can trade Fred VanTrash the over dribbler before his contract is up. Give them keys to Malachi.

I agree...a prime Augustin is a good start so thats no knock on Malachi. Flynn can learn to be a much better defender in this league.

Should we start calling him the Gentleman Hellraiser?

Why all the hostility towards Fred? His contract is not unreasonable and he's going to be a mainstay with the Raptors.

Fast_Feets wrote:FVV struggles so bad without lowry. That first quarter was atrocious. driving into the lane and getting blocked by the rim / players as usual

Mark my words, flynn will supplant FVV soon enough. He is just as good of a shooter and will get better, He is quicker and got tighter handles than FVV.

My hope is that malachi explodes in impact and Fvv will be traded midseason for assets With lowry sticking around. Harris hopefully has more Pt monday to show his stuff. I look forward to his first jaw dropping dunk.

I had some flickering candle of hope for stanley but man did this guy not work on his shot all this time. He missed every single shot he took. Yuta watanabe should take his spot.

Paul Watson is the next gem
Ellenson is too slow (maybe if he lost weight and worked on his foot speed. Maybe. Maybe he should train as a sprinter to work on that burst speed)

His shot is so silky smooth and always confident it has a chance of going in. He actually looks like a sniper out there when he shoots. Can also see why he won DPOY. He's a joy to watch and can't wait to see more of him. Nick shouldn't deprive us of this. Let him play through mistakes.

Hit the bench Malachi. Nick Thibodeau is back tonight

There are only 2 teams in the league that rank in the top 6 in offensive and defensive efficiency: the Golden State Warriors and the Toronto Raptors.
