Probably half as long as the Bucks need to wait before waiving Thanasis

I really do not want to jinx this, but imagine if Jrue does not sign an extension with the Bucks ....

I was never worried about Giannis. I am worried about a 2 player 5 pick rental for Holiday.

Possibly they were asking around the league for a cap expert to verify the details of the contract just in case the Bucks FO pulls a Bucks FO cap miracle again.

If Giannis can somehow bring a championship to this city it'll be glorious. Let's do this!

Indeed, the Pelicans FO might be the person that was rooting the hardest against Giannis extending with the Bucks.

Between AD and Giannis going for 5-year extensions, he has had a tough offseason

I'd lay a pretty heavy bet that they're going to announce an extension as soon as they're able to in February.

It is massive for Bucks fans, but it's not true that it would have economic impacts to the city.

That should be the first priority for the Bucks right now (in terms of roster management).

But the Bucks weren't the ones potentially leaving. Giannis was.
At a party given by a billionaire, Kurt Vonnegut informs Joseph Heller that their host had made more money in a single day than Heller had earned from his novel Catch-22.

Heller responds, “Yes, but I have something he will never have — ENOUGH.”

Nihilistically I think it matters much less now that Giannis has signed. If Jrue really wanted to walk and create a ~$30m hole in the payroll, let him, it'll be a lot easier to fill that hole with another great player with Giannis locked down. Obviously it would suck losing the picks for one year of his service.
