Do we think there's any chance Giannis gets a better whistle now that there's no incentive to try and subtly drive him out of MKE?

I would like to devote this to the Raptors, Heat, Giannis and Warriors. In that order.

I think yes because it will be a great story for the NBA. Make the small market fans all believe it could happen to them and keep 25+ cities/states vested in the NBA

Re: Giannis SIGNS
So let's make some things straight with simple facts.
Giannis:
1) Has undeniable pure LOVE for Milwaukee.
2) He is 100% LOYAL to the Franchise.
3) He is a Batman/Jordan type of player. He chose the hard way instead of the easy way like Lebron, KD, AD and others.
4) He did not lie in anything he said to the press.
So to all the doubters many of them also in this board.

I haven't bought a jersey of any sports team in years. The last one I bought was Ryan Braun - 5 months later he was suspended for PEDs. Just bought a Giannis LETS GO>>>

Hopefully this helps Giannis settle down a little bit. No doubt he has been trying to do way too much for a while. I'm sure it will help his teammates focus.

Reading that Athletic article, found it interesting that Lasry and Edens were at his house that Saturday afternoon, after the check in. Those guys were in a lot of meetings the past two weeks. Nice job on their part to get this done.

And the Chicago meeting with Sartarsis. It's amazing all the events you don't see or hear about.

Derivative benefits down the line.

And now the Heat, without Giannis to cloud their vision, could turn their attention solely to Harden if they'd like to compete for a title again this year in a highly-competitive Eastern Conference.
Which means the Sixers' biggest trade target just got pricier.

Is it possible that Miami Philadelphia (maybe also Brooklyn and Boston) try to outbid each other to get Harden?
That will be very interesting now.

Re: Giannis SIGNS
He's most likely a buck for life but even if he asks for a trade, the compensation would be huge that should leave this franchise in a good position going forward. I'd say this factored into his decision because he loves this team and city and is grateful to the bucks for giving him an opportunity to become what he has become.
In reference to our title winning year

Re: Giannis SIGNS
This from the athletic (so glad he resigned)
If Antetokounmpo had given some assurance that he was likely to re-sign in Milwaukee as a free agent, perhaps indicating that he’d be back so long as their season didn’t end before, say, the conference finals, then sources say Bucks officials likely would have taken their chances and moved ahead with the partnership. But if there were no assurances given, with Antetokounmpo simply stating that he planned on being a free agent and that he’d figure out his future when that time arrived, it’s clear the Bucks would have seriously considered whether they needed to take trade calls on him.

I did a double take when the image cut from the young Giannis to the current Giannis (1:14 mark).
FWIW, I was confident Giannis would re-sign. I think a lot of people underestimated the fact Giannis was born outside of the USA. If you look at other superstar, non-US born players who had control over their fates you'll find that they were pretty loyal to their small market teams. I'm talking about Nowitzki and Olajuwon mainly, but I would put Parker, Ginobili, and, yes, even Tim Duncan in that group. Compare them to ring chasers like Kyrie, Durant or the soon-to-be ring chaser Harden. Maybe I'm naive, but I would like to believe Giannis doesn't look at Milwaukee as a small-market NBA team, but as the team that plucked him from obscurity to give him the chance to provide for his family, for several generations, and be a force for change in the world.
Technology today has shown you don't have to be in a big market to earn your endorsement dollars. I live in the far north of Australia and I can buy the latest city edition Giannis jersey from the local sports shop for the first time (would have preferred the Cream City edition though). My next pair of shoes will be Nike Freaks.
From everything I've read and seen from Giannis over the years, it would not surprise me if he ended up like Dirk, taking a pay cut in the twilight of his 20 year career to stay with his beloved Bucks (albeit with more than one ring on his finger).
