Do you think he's mediocre though?

Also he walks less than Verlander, but he's been unlucky with the amount of hits he's allowed so his WHIP is higher than what I think it should be, hence the .344 BABIP and 15.5 LD%.

i don't think mediocre is the right word...perhaps a bit overrated at this point in time?

Bad luck or not, he's been an average pitcher. Either he's the unluckiest pitcher in MLB history, or some of these peripherals need to be thrown out the window when talking about Hernandez. I'm a big peripheral person, but sometimes, there are anomaly's. He was deemed unlucky last year, yet, results wise, was mediocre. And let's not act like he has a poor defense behind him with Guillen and Ichiro in the OF, and Beltre and Betancourt in the IF.

Average? He has a sub 4 ERA in the AL, he's pretty good. Theres a total of 22 pitchers in the AL with a sub 4 ERA. Which makes Felix a good number 2 starter in the AL. And this not using any peripherals which I don't like but whatever, he's better than average.

Edit-Actually he doesn't have a sub 4 ERA anymore because espn is messing with me because he started today and did bad. But he is still a #2 at worse in the AL, which isn't average to me.

far better? just take a look at the stuff wood had in 1998, specifically his 20k game, sorry, but that's even nastier than Felix's stuff.... hopefully he doesn't mess up his arm though.

His mechanics are awful. I had virtually the same delivery and I **** up my arm big time before going to LSU. I wouldn't be surprised if he finishes with 200+ wins or only 200 games pitched.
