Yes but if Giannis doesn't then it would mean the days of the dirks and Duncan's are truly dead.

He still provides a little hope even if it's the exception.

My goodness, so emotional for him signing.

I can't even imagine how many tears we will all shed when he brings us home a championship.

First chance I'm getting to post here in the middle of the night after being busy all day, but not busy enough to still have tears in my eyes at work when I found out he was resigning.

For those not old enough, today was what it felt like when I was an 11 year old in Green Bay and found out coming home from a day at school in 5th grade that the Packers had, against all odds, just signed Reggie White. This is exactly how it felt like. The hope. The innocence of youth dreaming about a future yet to come. It's all here tonight..in Milwaukee, in Wisconsin, in the hearts of Bucks fans around the world.

I've been with this board over 10 years and have lurked even longer and all I can say is "Thank you" to each and every one of you who has come here and screamed, laughed, and cried at this team through the mundane decades of the last 30+ years. Through the Ray Allen trade to the Bogut lottery, to the Michael Redd Max Extension to the #FearTheDeer year to Giannis/Jabari/JKidd and beyond.

Now here we sit, with a legit chance to be the "Team of the 2020s". The new San Antonio Spurs, or Golden State Warriors. By God's grace lets see it through.

Love you all, love Voodoo and Shaffty, and the biggest love and thanks to our little Smoothie boy, who showed us all he hasn't lost his innocence, his charm, and his loyalty that we all first fell in love with nearly 8 years ago.

To the future....to the Championship   :rocking: :guitar:

John Hammond out there saying this is a victory for the good guys.

Because Giannis is an amazing basketball player but he's an even more amazing person. We've all become better people thanks to Giannis choosing our favorite franchise.

So how much tax income does this mean for the city of Milwaukee and the state of Wisconsin?

some highlights

prompted him to broaden his view of how and
why contenders evolve into champions. Antetokounmpo came to understand
organizational strategies devised by owners, executives and coaches can make
that process easier or harder for a superstar.

At one point, sources said, Antetokounmpo even showed the Bucks' management
text messages from stars on rival teams who appeared to be beginning their
pitch.

When Dennis Schroder was traded to the Los Angeles Lakers,
Antetokounmpo wanted reassurance from afar that even if the Bucks didn't
land the Oklahoma City Thunder guard, they had at least made a valiant effort.

The Bucks landed Holiday, and that same day, they believed they
had reeled in another Antetokounmpo pick.

The team embraced his family, and he loved having his
brother Thanasis with him last season in Milwaukee, their lockers right next to
each other.

If he's playing more minutes, it means only one thing: That they aren't as dominant as they were last year.
With greater injury risk, not a good thing by any stretch of the imagination.

I don't mind seeing his minutes ramped up before playoffs or him playing extended minutes in certain EC games.

 What the hell? Totally different? Actually EXACT SAME:

Only 2 times in NBA history team with best records in regular season for 2 years in the row didnt win championship in any of those 2 seasons:

2008-09 Cavs (lost in conference Finals)
2009-10 Cavs (lost in 2nd round)

2018-19 Bucks (lost in conference Finals)
2019-20 Bucks (lost in 2nd round)

PS: 2010-11 Bulls and 2011-12 Bulls too but they were tied for best record in 2nd season so....its not 100% same

PPS: Interesting that leaders of those 3 teams (LeBron, Rose, Giannis) dominated inside(penetrations) but were not reliable shooters. In playoffs "walls" would stop them.

raferfenix wrote:Sources tell Jake Fischer from Bleacher Report that Giannis had a financial consultant look into the tax situations in Florida and Texas before deciding to stay:

Instead of signing the five-year supermax, Antetokounmpo weighed signing a two-year maximum extension and then inking a four-year supermax in the summer of 2022, when he would have reached free agency as a 10th-year player, eligible for an even higher portion of any team’s salary cap.

Sources tell B/R that Antetokounmpo’s representation also enlisted the services of a financial consultant to consider how a two-year max and a four-year max would have compared in the states of Florida and Texas, as opposed to Wisconsin.

In those scenarios, Antetokounmpo would have netted roughly $33.3 million over that two-year extension after taxes, plus approximately $114 million over a four-year deal in the states of Texas and Florida.

These are based off projections of the league cap—which is only set up as of now through 2023-24—but 151.3 million over six years, compared to the $124.2 million after taxes in Wisconsin, in just his five-year deal he ultimately agreed to, tipped scales in the favor of Milwaukee.

It says his representation did that. Could just be his agent doing his due diligence to present Giannis with his options and what they mean. Doesn't mean Giannis asked for that to be done.

I want Harden even more now. He would add another chippy edge to this team over Middleton. It also helps he can score whenever he wants.

Im not don't worry.

Im not objective when it comes to GIannis and i know that better than anyone but at the same time that doesn't mean that i cannot convey some things about him correctly especially since knowing his character.

Especially that Saratsis interview screamed about Giannis staying....

The most important thing, and I'm sure all Bucks fans here can confirm, is that your English has improved tremendously since you first joined!
