Hayward isn't a flashy guy but he does pretty much everything on the basketball court for his position, successfully. Nothing maybe amazing but he is still a well rounded player and a solid leader. We NEEDED one. As long as he doesn't get hurt again the signing was a good one. We will probably still be in the lottery this year but we are building a core and he fits an important role in ours.

The hip, elbow and ankle are the most common locations for avulsion fractures in the young athlete. You may need to spend a few weeks on crutches if you have an avulsion fracture around your hip. An avulsion fracture to your foot or ankle may require a cast or walking boot.

In rare cases, if the bone fragment and main bone are too far apart to fuse naturally, surgery may be necessary to reunite them. In children, avulsion fractures that involve the growth plates also might require surgery.

why are so many worried about his injury? if he out a while and we lose games so be it we be in postion to draft in the lotty in a deep draft so stop worring.

him being out is good for our draft stock and we get to see more of young players so its win win to me. we are one draft away from being back in the playoffs so if this had to happen better to happen to this year instead of next

In all seriousness though, seems to be a minor injury as he's listed as day-to-day...but hopefully isn't a sign of things to come

nobody should be playing defense for the guy yet

there's nothing 'good' about signing a guy to a megaton contract and seeing him listed as injured after two preseason games.

'but but but we get to lose' has nothing to do with it

A guy costing about $40mil a year

No big deal

Good thing it's not your money or your cap space

Hayward doesn't have a history of serious injuries. The only serious injury he's had was the devastating ankle one in 2017. When he broke his hand last season he didn't even miss a month and then he sprained his ankle landing on someone's foot in the first playoff game and that's something that would have happened to any player.

He’s played pretty darn well. Not an overpay at this point as long as he’s healthy
