I know. I was just deriding him based on how the Knicks worked their assets. Still think they could have gone Dotson/Flynn/someone else.
But I like him.
nah... they'd have gotten too cute and he not make it back to 33. if he was your preferred player of the 3, gotta get him.

Thibs has EVERYBODY playing D well
yeah, when things were going poorly early i didn't think it was randle's fault. he actually looked to be trying to distribute instead of going for his. i wasn't mad at him.
bullock needs to get his head right. this ain't him. dude's been knockdown from day.

I like France Thomas but basically this is true.
Glue like PG; moves the ball while playing off it but will play some point; not the greatest driver but at least adept to keep defenders honest on a good jumper; plays good defense.
Yup
I think he has potential to figure out driving and finishing. Kid is a gym rat.
quickley is going to actualize his potential. we have reason to believe that from his mettle, the skills he's shown, and that his development has already been steep. prime example of why one-and-done isn't always the way. sometimes you cut down the plant a bit too early to yield the fruit, feel me?

Yeah and also Toppin has to recognize to cut. But all the movement was towards Robinson. Mitch needs like a life coach or they need to let him smoke weed during the season. Whatever it takes for him to comprehend not fouling anyone in the first half. Now if I was the PG I would be in his ear telling him that and patting him on the back every time he avoids a foul. I would make it a priority but if you watch Payton and Smith... these guys do nothing motivational while there on the floor. they just go through the motions.
you might be onto something. a bounty for avoiding fouls!

Agreed - but even the rudiments are there and he's using them. I was sort of outlining what we hoped Frank would bring and how Quickley basically has it.
yep. at least quickley tries to do it. contact be damned.

Thibs said no time to waste so he got busy making Knox, Q, Obi, Mitch into stars to go along with RJ.

Re: Knicks - Cavs PG
I get it now! After the draft we usually have Summer League, and we all know how good Summer League Knox is. This year we didn't have it and we rolled straight into pre season, Kev must be thinking it's summer. If they move the draft right before the start of the actual NBA season we may be onto something with him

Knox from time to time shows why he was a lottery pick. Not sure what it’s going to take for him to become more consistent.

Re: Knicks - Cavs PG
Obi's hang time is absolutely ridiculous, we're gonna see a few posters this season.
The youth line-up played with so much energy. It's obvious the kids want to play together. The young guys are probably looking at Payton and Randle sideways like y'all never even made the playoffs. And with RJ setting the tone as a leader of the group, I think they're all gonna work hard and compete. He's the culture changer in my opinion, now the Knicks need to give him the keys.
But like Alan Hahn said, we need to see more of it. This can't be an every once in a while thing. Quickley needs to play at either guard position because his shooting is needed and Payton needs to be cut asap. Can't run the offense, can't play off-ball, can't shoot - he literally brings no positive.

He looked like a PG to me
I think he's a combo guard but he comes with a good set of skills and has a solid understanding of the game and can make nice reads and make good decisions. He can definitely be useful in two guard or three guard lineups or in one guard and multiple wings lineups.
You could make the distinction that there are combo guards who do spot duty at PG and then there are combo guards who can play the PG position but are also able to play the scoring role in a less ball dominant role. I'm beginning to think Calipari sort of deflected his trajectory as a PG, but that it will assert itself now and he'll end up being our PG this year. Maybe he becomes a combo or straight up SG if we draft or sign an elite PG, but what if IQ is actually the answer?
IOW, I don't think we know the answer yet, but I'd just give him the keys and find out. It won't ruin him. He loves the intensity so he will only learn from it, not get damaged by any setbacks.
Things we know the kid can do right now:
Shoot
Defend
Speed to stretch floor
Gym rat
Hi IQ
There isn’t another guard on this roster that can do all those.Hope they do hand him the keys.
