Such a terrific scorer. I can see him developing into a Devin Booker type of player. His 3pt shot will come around at some point considering his ability to hit midrange shots off the dribble and FT%. His ability to leverage his scoring threat to create for others is going to be key for reaching his upside but we have had examples of players who were primarily knows as a scorers at SG and developed into solid secondary playmakers over time, so there's definitely hope for him in this regard.

Him and Moody are two excellent SG prospects, both in the 5-10 range for me at this point.

I'm intrigued by Isaiah Todd. He shows flashes of Lamar Odom and pre-injury Harry Giles with his ability to play on the ball and create for himself.

I'll take the FT shooting though, 12-13 for the two combined. Also I'll take that overall efficiency by Kumimga, 21 points on 6-13 shooting. Also looking at those assists numbers for Kuminga as well.

I hope they get to the point where we get to see these games in full with a good camera angle.

I would be so disappointed if they somehow didn't. If they don't get to broadcast these kids with a legitimate production then good luck to them getting any new prospects to choose the G league over the NCAA.

I'm just worried Brian Shaw won't teach them a modern NBA offense. But regardless, it should be good development time. I'm sure that he'd be a fine college coach.

Has anyone gotten a good look at the young Tennessee guards yet?

I just watched the App. State game and Keon wasn't much more than a big time jumper with good acceleration to me. He is a good athlete and some of his movements look like Beal to me, except he kept missing the shot. Keon physically looks like a skinny Beal to me. He had several "wow" athletic moments. An offensive rebound, where he missed the tip back then he recovered that and missed the second tip, had to be doubled to not get a 3rd off rebound on that possession. A steal and go 1 vs. 2 fast break dunk that he threw down powerfully. AND another dunk he was fouled on that he missed, but it was a also veryy powerful the defense did was foul him to prevent the crazy jam. He went to the ft line and idr if he made those it's or not. He ran a little PG. But nothing creative. Just getting the team in sets. Probably ran PG 3rd most on the team. Keon looked fundamental, but small in defense. He didn't seem as good moving laterally as as Springer, but Springer us much bigger and stronger so he doesn't need the crazy quickness Keon will need there.

Springer was terrific on defense, but didnt flash as any type of shooter and didn't play to much on ball. He had one opportunity to run a fast break and looked really good there. Tenn. Has a veteran PG who looks like a future Euro league guy. So obviously it'll be tough to get minutes at PG. Springer has an excellent NBA body and seemed to do everything he was asked to do with very high iq. I didn't see him take any outside shots and he missed one "and-1" FT pretty bad. He didn't get tired at all throughout the game. The announcer described (imo accurately) Springer as a "bully" attacking the rim. Slringer was very high iq on defense.

Personally, I like Springer more than Keon. If Keon can make those shots his athleticism allows him to get open for he can be a microwave scorer or even an all-star, but he's very small and will be attached on defense.
Springer needs to prove he can be an NBA PG. And then he'll have to meet that standard shooting ability requirements for an NBA PG.

But if he can do those two things he'll never be a weak link on defense.

I think Springer has a bad, not broken shot and the shot is being hidden by Tenn coaches right now. I think Springer will be a really good PG. But the college game won't suit him as well as the more athletic and open NBA game will.

Keon, idk if he'll be more than an athlete. But if he dose start making these shots he has a high upside.

The first and last face-offs were the most difficult to me.

What are the reasons behind the picks you made?

Sure thing. I was in a bit of a rush when I first made post.


I like Scottie Barnes the most because I think his defense gives him a high baseline and his ability to handle makes him a transition threat and he can navigate the half-court better because of it. Robinson-Earl doesn't have the defensive ability of Garuba, but he is legit shooting well and I think is a good bet to be a better offensive player. Sylla doesn't have offense or defense going for him.

Terrance Clarke and Scottie are close, but I think Clarke has more awareness as an off-ball defender while being good on-ball. His handle and vision as a passer make him more viable in the half-court than Scottie. Neither can shoot.

I have Cade #1 in the class. He basically is a taller and stronger Suggs to be, and while he might not be as quick on offense/defense, he has just about everything else going for him.

Jalen Johnson is a legit cutter and has great feel. Isaiah Todd I believe is just not very good.

Brandon Boston and Williams have both struggled offensively, but Boston can really handle the ball and create for himself better. Boston's defense has been depressing, but he showed good stuff in HS and I believe in him still on that end. Ziare's defensive motor has been good, but he is very weak even compared to Boston and I think it will always be somewhat of an issue for him.

I went Isaiah Jackson, because he is a hyper athletic big that can make some crazy blocks around the rim. He also can pass it a bit too. Idk why he can't be an athletic defensive big for some years if the role is simplified enough for him. Greg Brown, is interesting but he cannot really create on the perimeter even though he likes to play on the perimeter and cannot really shoot. He also needs better decision-making for his potential role than Jackson does and right now he does not meet that threshold for me to take him over Jackson.

Moses Moody is the typical 3 and D wing that can fit in anywhere and fans always talk about how awesome it would be to have. Christopher I think can be something of like a Nick Young type of player with better athleticism. Bouknight I would like to see more of but he might be better than Christopher as he is less erratic and plays within a team construct better. Dosumnu is older than the rest of the guys here and I just don't think he does anything spectacular at this point.

Springer looked really good tonight, was decisive, quick, took good shots, pretty good defensively too, he has some off-ball prowess too which is interesting

He’s been aggressive as hell in iso. Like he spent the last two weeks stewing. I love it.
