Good lord this is terrible for the Bucks. Aldridge is 35 and coming off of shoulder surgery. Really doubt he can play next to Giannis in crunch time. DeRozan can absolutely not fit next to Giannis. Spurs put him at PF in the bubble and because he's a total non-shooter, that's his best position for the foreseeable future, so in what world would you want him next to Giannis? And at the cost of Middleton? My god.

mmm the point is not to get derozan and aldridge. i want to clear salary and have flexibility. derozan and aldridge just need to help one season. anyway, i do that at trade deadline if we have bad season. rather clean salaries than be locked with midleton and lopez and having team that doesnt work

So you create a situation where we have only $12 million is cap room, but have to replace The production of Middleton and Lopez? That's a brutal trade, we should be getting 3-4 1sts.

Don't know why you'd think this team won't work, and why you don't believe in advanced stats.

Amazing. I didn't do the math on the cap space. Can't wait to clear $12 million of cap for Will Barton!!!!

i explained before why this isnt going to work.

Lopez is dinosaur in modern NBA. teams with shooting bigs smile when they face us.

Middleton is overpaid a lot. that is bad contract and we will be happy to get expiring for him.

Lopez is a decent player. I don't think he should play more than 15-20 minutes a game come playoff time, but your assessment on Middleton is ass backwards. Middelton is a valuable player and he outperformed everyone's expectations of him this past year.

Giannis seems to like other international players and has demonstrated this not only in the way he picks his all-star teams but also in recruiting guys like Bogdan who just aren't that good. It seems to be part of his loyalty trait. He cited Embiid's African heritage as a reason for drafting him in the ASG and I believe he did the same thing with Siakam. At the very least, he drafted Siakam way too early even though he was probably the worst player in the ASG last year.

Why isn't he recruiting Cheick Diallo? :banghead: :noway:

Same reason he's not recruiting Biyombo or Dieng?

Just kidding, I don't really have a take on Diallo. :D

Actually he's quite similar to what we've seen from Portis. Significantly better touch, worse hands, higher motor and slightly quicker, better defensively and on the boards but no real back to the basket game, 2 inches shorter and his 3 pointer is still 'under construction' (though 87% from the line last year). Not sure how much actual offense we'll be running through Portis.

Also I think Dieng is quite good. The reason he's viewed unfavorably is because of his contract but it's not his fault the Timberwolves overpaid him. He's much better than Portis.

DDV and Wilson for Trent JR and Zach Collins? And then sign Diallo

Holiday - Augustine - Adams (2W)
Trent Jr. - Forbes - Merrill
Middleton - Craig - Pat
Giannis - Portis - Nwora - Diakite (2W)
Lopez - Collins - Diallo
Dealing with people who exhibit the "smartest person in the room" syndrome can be a challenge. One approach is to listen their opinion while also encouraging open-mindedness. It's important to create an environment where all voices are valued.

It's amazing how Milwaukee fans undervalue Khris in trades they propose. Take a moment to think about some facts.

- Jrue cost #24, two future 1sts and two swaps, which most agreed that it was a huge offer without Giannis' commitment and a hell of a package for New Orleans
- Most people agree that this player is 2b for Milwaukee with Middleton still being 2a
- Jrue was an expiring
- Middleton is locked in a 4y/147mil contract, which is pretty much what Jrue is expected to sign too (but still hasn't)

Please have these notes in mind. A 2a player locked in a long term contract should bring more than a 2b player on an expiring contract. This Jrue trade has pretty much written Middleton's value too.

Maybe DJ for Monk, that'd be nice if both parties think they need a change of scenery. Probably unlikely from CHA POV.

Wait Portland Trent? Why would do it?

There's no way Portland does this. Maybe they'd value DDV more than Trent in a vacuum, but DJ has done nothing to warrant Collins (who hasn't done that much either TBF but more than DJ).

I don't really agree with the whole 2a player should bring more than 2b expiring stuff. Value of players can vary wildly depending on who's at the helm. You can get an idea for how much someone is worth by looking a other trades, but at the end of the day there's just too much that goes into it. Timing, assets, state of the league, window and opportunity, who's trading, perceived value all play a huge part.

Trent is RFA, gets real expensive for POR if they pay Trent, Nurk, CJ, Dame. They'll take DDV who is a solid replacement and extra year of control. If they move CJ then it's a whole different story.

Both of these trades are unfavorable imo. The first one is highly unfavorable.

Just noting that Brook, Pat and Khris were at the “Giannis meal”. They ain’t going anywhere this season at least.

Carry on. 8-)

As gross and seemingly unnecessary the Pat deal is, I'm fine with him being here as Giannis's bud.

PLEASE just don't compound the problem by forcing him on the floor, Bud. Please give every opportunity to more talented players like Craig, Nwora and even Merrill to play over him. Pat as GA's lifting buddy and 11th-12th man depth and insurance policy if the younger guys don't develop, fine. Pat getting regular minutes as a main rotation guy, pls no.

Actually Trent for DDV is like 30k short of matching. Which means there would have to be more pieces moving as Portland doesn't have a TPE big enough to fit him in.

"Best and Worst NBA Owners" article from The Athletic today

Lasry got an honorable vote for best lol

Top 6-
Ballmer
Arison
Cuban
Lacob
Grousbeck (Celtics)
Holt (Spurs)

Worst 6-
Vivek
Sarver
Dolan
Harris (76ers)
Gilbert
Taylor

Funny how most of the owners from the Top 6 were all Giannis suitors

I'm not expecting much moving forward. Extend Jrue and we are good to go. I know this will be an unpopular opinion, but if Jrue signs an extension I think Horst should make some moves to avoid the tax.

Jrue/DDV/Midds/Giannis/Brook and Augustin/Merrill/Connaughton/Nwora/#30 will cost 147 mil in 2021-22. Bucks should be wiser to avoid the repeated tax so early. At least not for players like Pat or Wilson.

What do you guys think about getting Valanciunas? How does he compare to Brook at defending? He’s and equal or better shooter and 4 years younger.
still learning the game
