Bucks: Bamba, Monk and Bridges
Magic: Wilson and DDV
Hornets: Lopez

Why would the Hornets do that?

Yeah the Hornets aren't looking to get old.

Also, as much as I like Bamba longterm, he's still having breathing issues from Covid. It would be kind awkward to be trying to win the title going into the year with only Bobby Portis at center.

The reason why the Hornets do that is one, they don't want to pay Monk and the other is compete to win. Why did they sign Gordon then? Jordan wants to compete. He is just like Herb Kohl. Wants playoffs every year. no matter what. Brook gives them a good center that they really don't have.

Jordan also loves Monk.

I do really like the idea of a DJ for Malik Monk swap mid-season. He seems like a prime breakout candidate on a better team.

Even if you think that Christian Wood is actually good and not just a relatively empty stats guy, he's still a string bean that can't defend with a streaky 3PT shot. He was and continues to be a bad fit next to Giannis, and that's all that really matters on this team.

I think it was split with a few more wishing we held onto him. I felt indifferent at the time because I didn't think Wood would ever see meaningful minutes so it felt like wishful thinking. I think going to Detroit was a blessing for him as he could spread his wings a bit more and get his contract with Houston.

+1 for Giannis GM urging Bucks to trade for Beal and Bogdan. I'm guessing WSH said no but we should have put it all on the table for him.

Everyone else would put it all on the table for Beal too if they made him avaliable, but they haven't.

Who would be the perfect center to play next to Giannis?

I think the best thing that came out of all of this is Giannis seems more willing to recruit a bit more, even if he tells the media he's not really into that sort of thing. I don't think he'll be on the level of LeBron/Kawhi or something, but I could see him talking one or two decent players to come here.

Don't think Giannis was ever against recruiting guys to Milwaukee. He'd be the #1 guy in any situation and everyone would know that this is his franchise. It's just that he's not an insecure Beta superstar who would constantly flee to other teams in order to do it.

Washington made it very clear they weren't going to trade Beal before the season. That could end up changing if Washington stinks this season - which is one reason you don't rush to make a terrible trade.

Been preaching this. Monk is getting NO PT in the pre-season. Could see it working out for both teams. Just depends how interested CHA is in DJ. Showcase DJ and make the swap

Did they ever say specifically what Monk got suspended for? I know it was the anti-drug policy but I heard some people say it was hard drugs, but I had nowhere to corroborate that news.

Just want to point out that we had already traded Thon by the time we cut Wood.

Diakite is on a two-way deal so I think he’s safe.

Glad that Diakite is safe, but I would have liked them to keep Justin Patton, too. I don't know if it's injuries with him, or if they just don't think he's where he should be. Him not even playing in an exhibition game disappointed me.

Yeah, those camp guys really got the short end of the stick this year with the abbreviated off-season and so many new players needing minutes to learn and get reps. Patton was decent with the Herd last year, so maybe they just don't see any progression?

Monk is easily my favorite deep sleeper target.

I was on this earlier in the offseason, but now that deal would put us over the hard cap.
