Lol listened to Ayton getting interviewed on Doug and Wolf and he said Chris Paul blew his mind talking about how important angles are in basketball. Didn’t even know what he meant by angles at first lol. How is that possible???

Still better to read he likes to be aggressive and compete than not, but someone needs to tell him to make it a reality.

I bet on CP3 doing it.

Reminds me of watching him play someone in the NB2K playoffs and he kept dunking on people and the guy kept saying "C'mon, Ayton doesn't do that! He doesn't dunk that much." and Ayton would respond with "You obviously haven't played against me enough."

That being said, there are not really many Cs today who really intimidate and throw it down like a guy like Shaq or Amare did.

You have some others who do...more wings or guys like LeBron (and Oubre) but can't think of a lot of Cs...a lot more finesse Cs today (Towns, Jokic, Vucevic, Sabonis and a bunch of them). Maybe Bam throws it down..haven't watched enough...not sure about Nurkic either.

If he is by himself wide open I don't think him dunking it over laying it in matters and doesn't prove anything about dominating...it's just showing off, and as long as he is, he doesn't need to do that since it's so easy.

But if a defender is there and a lay in or fadeway is tried instead of a dunk a guy probably can't defend, that is what he needs to try..not worry so much about the defender...he more than likely makes it or gets fouled or both....it would very rarely get blocked.

Agreed, as I said in a previous post I don't care much about the dunking part, but there was a play against the Lakers he had the ball in the post against Mathews and he decided to pass to a cutting player though he could have easily scored on his own. Eddie Johnson also criticized him for not trying to score in another situation against Gasol. That being said I don't find AD any more aggressive, he's simply a better player, thus more dominant.

Lol Ayton probably meant “You obviously haven’t played against me in 2k enough, I dunk in 2k all the time!” and maybe he’s not wrong there.

I don’t think anyone’s hoping he throws down like Shaq or Amare but even something like prime DeAndre Jordan would be nice. Not sure he has the athletic ability to do it all the time like DAJ did but at least somewhat frequently would be nice out of our #1 overall selection. Something like that play of Jarrett Allen I posted in the previous page of this thread.

Ayton blows my mind with some of these comments. Like how the other day he said "I told my teammates I can finally see their faces when I'm dribbling the ball", like good job I guess but dude.

Lol seriously. It's almost impressive that he does as well as he does having what occasionally seems like the basketball IQ of a gold fish. Here's to hoping Chris Paul can show him the light.
