Fifty years ago.

The crash happened about 3 miles as the crow flies from my house.

At 7 years old, I knew something terrible had happened because all the adults around me were acting weird, but I couldn't really wrap my mind around the reality of what it all meant at that age.

Crash site is back in the woods on the hill, so at that spot, there's only a highway marker/sign. On campus, you may know, there's a Memorial Fountain, and each year, there's a ceremony this week when the fountain is turned off. And then, there's also this on the hill just beyond campus, which you've probably seen by now...

EA Sports vice president and general manager Daryl Holt announced that the game maker will be releasing its first college football game since 2013 with "EA Sports College Football."

That's the exhilarating news. But a few questions remain. Holt does not have a date on when the game is going to return yet. What he does have is over 100 FBS schools in via collegiate licensing agreements with company CLC. That'll ensure that EA can use the schools, stadiums, traditions, uniforms and playbooks -- but not necessarily the players, as in past incarnations of the game. NCAA players are still prohibited from selling their NIL rights while in college, complicating that facet. However, laws are expected to be addressed in the coming year that could change that rule, potentially opening the way for college players' likenesses to be used. Importantly, Holt said NIL legislation will not effect EA's new plan to roll-out the game, which has been on hiatus since 2013, when it was released as "NCAA Football 2014" on the PS3 system. Ever since, a cult-like online community has updated rosters every year online to keep the game active.

ESPN blabbermouth Stephen A. Smith talked his way into hot water earlier this week by revealing his disdain for female fighting. Not surprisingly, that didn’t sit well with most women competing inside the Octagon.

Including UFC flyweight Molly McCann.


McGregor Demands Apology From Stephen A. Smith

“How can you say that when you’re on such a platform?” McCann asked Insider. “Could you imagine Serena Williams watching that? It’s not just fighters he’ll have offended. It’s every sportswoman and maybe every sportsman. Stephen Smith needs to give his head a wobble. When I win on Saturday, I’m going to say something on the microphone: ‘I’ll see you in the car park!’”
