So are you going to just be defensive, or am I wrong and everytime I step into this thread there isn’t posts about Cade not playing great overall, but finding a way to make an impact?
I didn’t make a statement about his play, I made an observation on what it seems like others are saying here.

Who is the second best center in this draft class?
Ibou Dianko Badji?
Usman Garuba? (Unless he’s more of a PF).

I didn’t make a statement about his play, I made an observation on what it seems like others are saying here.
I've seen two Cade games and neither did he perform extremely well, statistically in.
Here's why I think he's going to be a really really good pro (like 2nd or 3rd member of a "big three"/low level-perinial if good narrative all-star type).
He's a really tall, quick PG. With a good floor general game very very promising shooting, above average explosive athleticism for an NBA player, and he seems looked in, professional and poised.
He looks like a guy who will never be a defensive weak link, will give you 20+ and his statistical output will rise in the more pace and space NBA.
He's going to help your teams overall defense, offensive iq, floor spacing, fast break (probably big time here) and rebounding.
I think this OSU team is really good. I think even without bcade they would be competitive for the NCAA tournament or at least be a high seed in the NIT. That said, they aren't as good a fit to show off Cade as for example, Gonzaga is for Suggs (no disrespect not Suggs).
In conclusion:
-Really good wing defender, with great length
-reputation and statistics say a high level shooter
-great on fast break (few opportunities in OSU compared to NBA)
-very good in half court (although mom not seeing many iso drives to the basket, more iso pull up midranges)
What's the complaint on him? He's not LeBron? We'll.. no he's not. A lot better than Anthony Edwards though.

I assume you mean he’s a bad draft prospect? If you think he’s a bad college basketball player you haven’t seen him play much.

Thanks for the recap.
You kinda lost lost me when you said he is a quick PG with above average explosive athleticism..are we watching the same thing?
The biggest issue for me in regards to Cade is that he has very little burst and top end speed. He is not explosive at all and has enormous difficulties creating separation in the collegiate level. He will not be able to play full time PG at the NBA level without being able to create some kind of defensive collapse. He can't even get defenders on his hips, let alone get past them.

i mean, I don't even know what your observation means...are you saying that every time you come in here someone is talking about how Cade is struggling? maybe you should come here more often then, or visit the Cade thread, people have been talking about him being a unanimous #1 guy from pretty much the entire year, except for a few (like myself, but here I am defending him)
in any case, you should watch more Cade

Just out of curiosity, do you have any views on Neemias Queta in comparison to Sharpe?

in what way specifically? Sharpe is just better and almost 3 years younger...I don't think Queta does anything better than Sharpe at this point.

I'm trying to get a better idea of Queta and I'm torn on Sharpe, so I thought it could be an interesting comparison since both have at least comparable profiles. Queta is longer and to me appears to have more ability in the post and runs the floor better. Sharpe, however, seems to have quicker hands on defense once he actually is in position. Not sure how either fares against better Guards on the perimeter. Both have some nice passing skills, although Queta is quite turnover prone and Sharpe has turned the ball over some as well. Both are a bit heavy-footed but can really get athletic blocks, and both don't have a great shooting touch. Obviously Sharpe has the benefit of being two years and a couple months younger.

i think Sharpe's passing prowess at his age is pretty intriguing, I think it's a sign for + BBIQ, really knows how to box out and set screens, at 19 being able to do these nuanced things for a C I think is pretty impressive...he's also really strong, grown man body + good length, and I think he's pretty light-footed actually especially around the basket
but yea, still has the issues of being a single level player on offense at this point, and that'll only take you so far in the NBA.

I don’t have a complaint, And I feel like the 3 of us are sort of landing in the same place, but with different wording. From what I saw, and from looking at his numbers, he looks like he’s the probable best prospect in a really strong draft, but not the generational, game breaking talent some #1’s are...
So yea, basically he’s not LeBron. Lol.

If you watch Cade run the break you can see his athletic. And he's very quick lateral defensively.
Some players are more suited to the NBA. He's getting things done at OSU he is probably the best statistical player in his conference right now.
But OSU is a grind it out team without NBA athleticism surrounding him and without NBA shooting surrounding him.
Once he gets to play at his natural pace with NBA level spacing he'll be able to show off alit more.
Him on the fast break shows what he can do in An NBA environment. Imo.
