It's a really good fit for them. Lowry is like the perfect point guard next to Harden and if they can find a way to keep Anunoby out of the deal it's a home run. Nurse is the right kind of coach for him too.

He's the 3rd highest paid player in NBA history now, that contract may as well be AIDs, Covid, Spanish flu and the bubonic plague all rolled into one. It may help us in the end, because the Jazz now have no other avenues of putting a sidekick next to Donovan and Gobert is taking up 40% of the cap.

I think there’s some truth that Morey has to be iffy on a nonshooting/nonscoring wing.

I think Lamelo is going to be a bust but I kind of feel like Obi may not turn out that great either if he doesnt hit the 3 ball with consistency and volume.

That Kuzma deal is a steal. On most teams he would be a 20ppg scorer. On the knicks he would be the perfect fit next to RJ and Mitch.

WTF?
There were rumblings the Knicks’ previous coaching staff was concerned that Barrett, who wore a pink suit on draft night, was too Hollywood and not enough of a gym rat as a rookie.

I never heard this before. I don't believe it

I’m actually okay with that deal for Utah. They ain’t going to get anyone better and the guy actually wants to stay. It’s fashionable to say that you can replace Gobert for cheap, but not sure how feasible that actually is. Dwight ain’t going there, Javale ain’t, and I’m sure Donovan would be pissed if he had to play with them. Maybe the right move would have been to trade Gobert before it ever got to that point. Beyond that, if Utah wants more talent, I hear Randle’s available for Conley or something
OKC BAF

PG: Reed/Fears/Wagler/Traore
SG: Tre/Darryn
SF: Egor/Dailyn/Ament
PF: Boozer/John Collins/Koa

On block:
Collins - 55.2% FG, 40.6%, playing defense - $226/1

It’s not about who’s he’s going against, it’s about him getting those shots up smooth and fast and making them

Yeah but he doesn’t nor should he get enough touches to score like that. It’s not a bad deal I just don’t think Kuzma is the guy they should have gave that deal too. In theory I have a feeling they’ll regret this when trying to keep Schroeder next summer whose going to get paid.

They can easily trade Kuzma on that deal.

Huerter the 8th man in a deeeeep Atlanta roster. They're obviously not trying to move him, but would they? We'd definitely start him.

Huerter, Dunn and Snell for Randle and Rivers/Bullock/Burcs

Quickley
Huerter
RJ
Toppin
Mitch

Probably it’s a not crazy, and its in range for his production. If his production dips for whatever reason then it becomes a issue. Also I don’t even mean that based on him becoming a bad player, or being injured. It’s just the way the Lakers are designed now he might get even less touches and minutes.

THT and Harrell are going to need minutes at forward/wing, and Schroeder is going to get way more touches than say Rondo did. On the low I think they should have tried to trade Kuzma now so they could of got some really good assets for him on a rookie deal.

This is some pretty wild shyt. So the owner of the Detroit Pistons also has ownership interest in privately owned prison utilities.

Is there any chance Dolan may have invested his money in such nefarious deals? Why can't we get this kind of stuff on Dolan? I'm telling you, Oakley is our savior! #SupportTheOak

From the article:

n a letter to NBA Commissioner Adam Silver and in a full-page ad published in Sunday’s New York Times, a criminal justice group called on the league to force Gores to sell the Detroit Pistons and step down from the NBA board because of his financial interest in Securus Technologies Inc.

The letter is part of a broader campaign that has called on private equity firms, investment managers and pension funds to divest from companies that operate in correctional facilities and profit from mass incarceration. Those efforts have intensified after the killing of George Floyd in May became a catalyst for protests against systemic racism in the U.S. criminal-justice system.

“If Black Lives Matter, what are you doing about Detroit Pistons owner Tom Gores?” reads the ad, which is addressed to other club owners including Alibaba Group Holding Ltd. co-founder Joseph Tsai, former Microsoft Corp. CEO Steve Ballmer and NBA legend Michael Jordan.

Platinum Equity, the Beverly Hills, California-based buyout firm run by Gores, acquired Securus in 2017 for $1.6 billion.

“Mr. Gores continues to amass wealth and benefit from a system that exploits Black people and profits from their pain,” Bianca Tylek, executive director of Worth Rises, the organization that placed the ad, wrote in a Dec. 10 letter that was also made public on Sunday.

Mark Barnhill, a parter at Platinum, said in an emailed statement on Sunday that his firm’s priority at Securus is to “shoulder the heavy lifting necessary to transform the company and the industry, and do so in collaboration with a broad coalition of groups and individuals.”

Gores has pledged to put any personal profits from his investment in Securus back into the company to pursue the planned reforms, Barnhill said. He characterized the Worth Rises campaign as the work of an “isolated fringe.”

Vocal Supporters

NBA players have been among the most vocal supporters of social and racial-justice causes involving professional athletes this year. Playoff games ground to a three-day halt in August after the Milwaukee Bucks refused to take the floor to protest the police shooting of Jacob Blake, a Black man in Kenosha, Wisconsin.

“We understand Worth Rises’ passion for prison reform and have been in regular communication with Tom Gores regarding their concerns,” NBA spokesperson Mike Bass said in an emailed statement. Bass said the league supports Gores and his colleagues’ efforts “to address these important issues.”

The NBA has pledged to donate $300 million over the next decade to support economic empowerment in Black communities through the creation of the NBA Foundation. Its first grant under the program was announced this month.

Securus has come under fire for charging prisoners as much as $25 for a 15-minute phone call, although the company has said that it has eliminated some of the highest rates. A large portion of those fees are typically paid back to the counties and states that operate the facilities as commissions.

A representative for Securus said the company is working to make its services “as affordable and accessible as possible” and that since January it has cut the average cost of a phone call to $0.15 per minute.

Increased Pressure

Gores and Platinum have faced increased pressure to divest from Securus in recent months. In October, Gores resigned from the board of trustees of the Los Angeles County Museum of Art after his role on the board was criticized by activists, artists and donors.

Platinum earlier this year installed new executives at Securus, whose parent company was renamed Aventiv Technologies, including Chief Executive Officer David Abel.

Dallas-headquartered Securus is one of the largest providers of telephone and video-visitation services in the country, serving more than 1.2 million incarcerated people across North America, according to its website.

Not a chance. They are all about the right way. Harden is destined for some dumb ass franchise like Nets, Bulls, Knicks, Kings or Clippers. Raptors were in that 'elite' category 3 years ago but not anymore.

Harden is probably the biggest fraud in sport for the 21st century. Either him or Darryl Morey. But Morey is rather a fool believing that the players are machine learning algorithms that will produce constant results. You simply cannot apply analytics ignoring the choking or stupidity factor = 1/27 from three, 6 points in game 6 at home to Spurs etc or bad individual decision like attacking the rim like madman and getting blocked 10 times per game(Westbrook to AD and LeBron).

Steph Curry changed the game and NBA with his great talent and brilliancy, Harden found a way to cheat it.
