Devin is the huge positive pre-season revelation. These stats show just how good and consistent he has been for us. To get so many minutes is a rare compliment:

MEDIA DAY 12: 19-12-2020

Practice 8

*There was a long video session yesterday, Jakob said* Oh to have been a fly on that wall...

Jakob and LMA were interviewed after practice today.

Some snippets from Jakob's Q&A:

"...one person..." Good cover, Jakob  A fine teammate. We watched. We know who the one or two guys are.

Mmm hmm. When you watch Jakob, it's less convincing than matter of fact, even though I don't doubt he means it.

Here's the full Q&A:

Here we go. Snippet's from LMA's interview:

Hahaha... haha... ha... Oh would you look at this turnip?! He definitely has that backwards. It's more like the team rallying together and being pissed at LMA's piss poor play. Misses are one thing; that effort is entirely another.

To be honest, when you hear him say the above it does sound like a light joke here and gone. But yeah, it's a bit of cheek given how he's played like ass and why Pop's riding the team hard about it's D for the couple of obvious culprits - of which LMA is one. Look in the mirror while making that joke next time. My squinty-eyed perception of LMA now has a little part of me thinking that he's blowing it on purpose to make things difficult for Pop because he wants out. But maybe that's just me wanting him out talking.

Here's the full Q&A:

Interestingly, LMA talked about how well the young guys played in the bubble, how good and cohesive they looked. Almost as if to stress the point that we play so well without him. Mmm hmm. They sure did.

It seems like there's a concerted effort to make sure LMA gets good press and positive coverage after doubts about him appear. First it was all the players talking about how much LMA's bought in so much so that it made you wonder the opposite. Now after he's stunk it up in the pre-season games, an article comes out about what a great team mate he is, how agenda-free and funny he is, etc.

It sort of exposes a point with all the cover it is given. He really doesn't fit our bubble play, and we are a different team when he sits. But perhaps I'm just too cynical. I'm willing to be proven wrong, but I'm not willing to wait a third of season for him to get his game going again by which point the team will have had to acquiesce to his preferred playing style again. No. Let the young guys run.

Speaking of the young guys running, best to leave on a positive:
