Seattle and Vancouver first, which would also allow for minor realignment with two of Minnesota, New Orleans or Memphis going to the Eastern conference. The question is how would the expansion draft work? If they are made from the 8th and 9th best players from each team in the NBA they are going to be really bad for a really long time and that has to be taken into account, which didn't happen in Vancouver the first time around.

It's not 1995 anymore. The talent pool is vastly improved across the league. Even if teams protect 8 players and you get the 9-15 guys, there's probably enough guys there to fill two rosters.....and not be the 2 worst teams in the league right away, or at least keep it close with some current bottom dwellers.
There are plenty of teams in the league with crazy depth, in which the 9-15 guys can really play.
Sure, they will be amogst the worst from the get go, but what's really the difference between that and tanking every year like some teams do now? Some teams have made the playoffs once or twice in the last 20 years.
You get some high lottery picks and with what you already have, you build a foundation. I don't think any possible expansion wannabe has dreams that they'll be good right away and they're more likely fine with that.

If they would just increase the max salaries so it is harder to stack great player we would see a lot more of competitive teams

2nd Canadian team makes the most sense. Howevy in all of reality NBA can't even now produce competitive teams out of all 30 of them or even 2/3rd of them. So not sure if adding more teams is the right way here. I rather go down to 26-28 teams.

Cuban was on Bull Simmons podcast last week go listen expansion ain’t happening at all it’s not on the table. Cuban is talking about the only way is if the new team pays 3 billion up front and still that might not do it since they’d be taking some of the pie

I'm not getting my hopes up but if the league wanted a cash infusion of $6 billion by adding 2 more teams, now would be a pretty good time.

If all the superstars are going to team up on the same 2-3 teams, then adding more teams is only going to water down the talent pool for the rest of the league, creating even less parity.
Less teams? Fine, do you nominate Indiana for one of those teams?

Settled. Remove Indiana and Oklahoma City

I'd really rather just see the bad market trio of Memphis/New Orleans/Oklahoma City get moved back (or somewhere new in NO's case). The league allowing these armpits to have NBA teams over places like Seattle, Vancouver, and Vegas was, is, and will forever be so freaking stupid.

I'll believe it, when I hear an official announcement of some kind. Until then....Not a chance.

Cuban seemed pretty short sighted in that respect. Saying that getting a split of $6 billion split up between 30 teams would essentially be like the NBA giving a 10 year loan and after that, they’d have to split the pie with 2 extra teams. How far have we come in 10 years?
Having more teams brings in more revenue. More games on TV, more bargaining power with the networks etc. Also if the teams went for $3 billion each the value of each individual team would surely go up.
Cuban is a very smart guy so I’m sure he’s done the numbers or had someone do them but I just couldn’t agree with him here.

OKC has missed playoffs only once in last decade. Might want to look into how teams like Kings, Knicks, Hornets, and Twolves operate.

Oh I'm well aware of how those teams operate. But I'm not the one advocating getting rid of other fans teams. Sacto just recently went through this and I'm sure it's draining. Yes OKC did well, but it was Seattle that drafted KD and OKC reaped the rewards. Personally, I don't want anyone to lose their team and would prefer an expansion. The bad teams are gonna suck regardless because they suck are development and drafting.

For sake of conversation New York ain't going anywhere, period. It'd have to be the Wolves and Hornets because they not only suck, but also the fan attendance has been abysmal. I tend to look at fan attendance to get an idea of how popular or profitable teams are in their respective market.

Re: NBA Expansion (Update pg. 16 - Silver says NBA Reconsidering Expansion)
Seattle and Vancouver shouldn't have lost their teams. IMO I bet the NBA is salivating at the idea of another NBA team in Canada.
Seattle
Vancouver
Las Vegas
In that order. Seattle shouldn't have move to begin with, shady dealings. Vancouver didn't get a fair shake and the Raptors proved there's massive money/fans in the Canadian market waiting to be untapped. Las Vegas was a team or idea I didn't care for initially. But after the NFL/NHL and WNBA integrated them seamlessly I can't see a reason against it.

Looking at things now, i'd go for Seattle and Vancouver (give them the Grizzlies name, Memphis can use the Hustle name or Utah can give them the Jazz name cause i know their probably isn't many, if any Mormon Jazz bars).

Why are people talking about moving teams? Do some people not know the difference between expansion and relocation?

What about St. Louis as an option besides KC? They are a bigger metropolitan area and have less professional franchises competing for viewership?
