I don't know, I think that would be tough to put him in a national TV game like that cold.

May be better to wean him in rather than shatter his confidence against some elite offensive players on the other side.

They need more for him than I think most people expect, because if you've watched the preseason, the Warriors offered no resistance against big men gobbling rebounds.

They need a lob threat if nothing else so that opposing centers aren't only playing the penetrator, whether Curry or anyone else, not worried about having the ball lobbed over them.

Yeah ... no. Less likely now than it was a month ago.

It's possible but I don't think it's likely.

you just give him 6 minutes at the start of each each half, what's the big deal? Without Dray we're losing anyways

Work the lob game with him some, hope that he can get the tough rebounds, alters shots.

Maybe some baskets in transition, though they need him to help clear the glass.

I want to see opposing players change their shots or take more low percentage mid range 2’s because the threat of Wiseman is lurking inside.

I really am a basketball nerd aren’t I.

He played well considering he is 19 and a rookie and right now the Wiseman haters and Doubters are quiet when Me, Mylie, coxy were hyping him up as the best player in this class

He made a 3 in an NBA game before Mitch Robinson even attempted one and before Ben Simmons and he was not in foul trouble at all, even if that foul on KD was bs. He didn't play much so that reflected on his rebounds and he still needs work on defensive positioning but he seems fine and he looked better than Mobley

How much did he score in garbage time?

He didn't go up strong, though many of the times they were contesting his layup or dunk attempt.

Lets go a step at a time. He should be like Zubac, go after the boards hard and go up strong as the biggest guy down there.

I wanted Wiseman also, but I'm not as all in on him as y'all.
He had 3 rebounds in his first stint and then only 3 rebounds the rest of the game. Super small sample size, but I expected more on the boards. Again, small sample size so probably meaningless.

The scoring is nice though, and the outside shot looks good. Our resident draft experts who compared him to Whiteside for over 6mo are nowhere to be seen. LOL

That said he's got a ways to go in a number of areas. But 7'1", 7'6" wingspan aren't teachable.

He tried to bring the court down when he was fouled on dunk attempt.

Well 6 rebounds is more than Damian Jones used to get but this game got out of hand so a lot of garbage time.

He could definitely get with an NBA trainer to get stronger in the offseason.

Just hope that once he starts seeing that NBA money, he doesn't get distracted.

Dwayne Haskins, only in his second year, not making nearly as much, decided to go to the strip club without masks during a pandemic. Even as a rookie he was doing stupid stuff. Now looks like a waste of a first round NFL pick. He's not playing well but apparently DGAF. He can waste time on his rookie contract, but probably thinks he'll still get another job in the NFL.

Warriors fans have to hope JW is nothing like that. A 7-footer, athletic, will always have a job though, at least for a few years after his rookie deal. Damian Jones is still playing in the league. He can dunk the ball and that's about it, never has to learn any other skills or play with intensity.

Well... How many teens willing to learn Chinese?
Especially a teen that has been pampered in High School to go to the NBA. Dang, I can't even get my kids to speak Chinese at home. :banghead:

So if a kid is willing to learn a hard foreign language, on his own, don't see him not wanting to be better person in life and at work.

So I think Wiseman will turn up better than Haskins.

Wiseman’s jump shot is literally unblockable.

Pretty harsh imo to draw any conclusions on the first NBA game played by a 19 year old particularly after virtually no pre-season following a year of virtually no college play, and having his first game against KD and Kyrie is rather a high hurdle; Kyrie in that form is fairly irresistible.

I would actually love to see KD and Irving stay healthy and with what seems to be a rather good ancillary cast take out LeBron and the Lakers.

Maybe GSW have one more chance next year with Klay back and Wiseman developing over the year.

Wiseman is the real deal. He's going to be our franchise player.
