Anyone Notice?: Melvin Frazier Jr. signed and was waived by Oklahoma City

Post#1 » by Howard Mass » Tue Dec 22, 2020 2:25 am

Earlier this month, Melvin Frazier Jr. whose team option was declined by The Magic signed with Oklahoma City.

he was then cut three days later.

If you are a swingman, you need to be able to shoot and that was always going to make or break Frazier's NBA chances.

It looks like that Frazier's chances of staying in the NBA has gone for broke. He needs to go to G-League or go overseas.

Those are his only options at this point.

He should not give up on his career so soon.

Yeah, we had this conversation a few weeks ago. It took us 2 years to figure out what OKC did in 2 days. That's frightening.

I would imagine it was because OKC’s roster was in a state of flux and they were willing to take some flyers to try to unearth some guys that hadn’t been given a fair shot. It’s unlikely that they discovered anything in two days that made them change their minds, but rather that they figured out that there was no place for him when the roster started coming together.

I’m not going to say he sucks, because I haven’t seen enough of him to form an opinion and there is no data to analyze. I don’t consider a lack of playing time to be evidence of as much.

He sucked the moment he stepped on the court. And his attitude sucks. There is no debate to be had here.

His game is not suited to the FIBA style; which is perimiter oriented.

He would do well in China in that he would muscle his way in to dominance.
