Harden's stock is deteriorating by the day with all the drama and negative stories out there, but the incentive to get him hasn't changed. He's still an elite player/superstar who would make us heavy favorites to win it all. With our defense looking better than expected though, I'm content for now, and the steep cost that it'll take to get Harden, it definitely gives reluctance to make that move.

He's a great player, but right now we have a cohesive group that is on the same page and dedicated to working hard. Harden came into camp overweight and he is putting hanging out with his rapper buddies in strip clubs over his career and the health and safety of everyone around him.

No thanks. If we can't win with two elite players and elite depth, so be it.

Hello Brooklyn wrote:I've been off that Harden train for a while. I don't need him coming here and infecting the whole team with COVID.

Basketball is more than talent, its also about chemistry. Do you really think Harden's personality will fit here?

Levert/Dinwiddie/Allen do whatever they are asked and are super talented. They also seem to be playing hard defense.

I already think we are the best team in the league as is. Adding Harden seems like an unnecessary risk.

Same. Those 3 guys + Harris are apart of what helps to set the tone because they are all hungry, hard workers. KD and Kyrie are all business. We don't need the disruption and worries that will come with James Harden because he can't sacrifice the next 5 months to lock in and stay out of bars. This dude hops on private jets between games to club it up, is there any secret as to why he flames out every time in the playoffs?

I think the criticism of Harden acting like an idiot is fair, but I don't think he arrived to camp "overweight", that's just one bad pic creating that narrative. I get where people like you are coming from, and atm, we have plenty of reason to be optimistic. But I don't think we should easily dismiss or disregard the idea to get Harden yet. We're reliant on the health of injury prone guys, and that's my biggest worry about this team. Getting Harden would go a long way in reducing that reliance. If we had Harden, even if one of KD or Kyrie went down, we'd still be a contender, that's how strong we would be.

I don't care about all this drama. Still wouldn't say no to Harden lmao. He is a top 5 player easily. He wouldn't do anything like this with a team he actually likes. Yeah unprofessional behavior but it's a unique situation still. Not bothered by it.

Screw Harden we don't need him. Let's rock out this year with this group and if we don't win or look like we need another star then we trade for him next offseason.

Perfectly fine by me. I'm really not bothered much about this. Win-win situation for me.

His response makes zero sense, far as I can tell.

Even if you caught a strain of CV19 and overcame it, you can still catch a different strain and transmit it to others, even if you're personally at low risk due to having antibodies. Because there are dozens of strains now. The point is still to distance, wear PPE, and not mix in the kinds of events... that Harden keeps mixing in.

It's like he's doing everything he can in that way to sabotage the Rockets and/or get sidelined by the league. Houston should just shut him down at this point.

I highly doubt he'll be available next season.

Next off-season Harden will be where he wants. It doesn't matter where he gets traded now. He might still be unsatisfied with his new team and demand a trade to his desired destination.

Again, I doubt it. He likely gets traded to a situation where he's content until his contract is up, which isn't that long anyways.

EMBARRASSING. It hasn't even been 24 HOURS. WTF

The Rockets should be forced to forfeit games. Westbrook reportedly had serious problems with how Houston has been handling Covid19 and now we see the proof.

I don't want Harden anywhere near this team. Even his "explanation" is bull **** because he's still out in a public place indoors with no masks and no social distancing. He's violating protocol, regardless if he wants out or not his ass needs to be home staying away from situations where the virus can spread. You think he's going to stop his behavior because he changes zip codes to Brooklyn?

We're good here. If we can't win with our roster, I can live with that. At least we tried.

I'm mainly a KD fan. Harden isn't my boy but I just don't think he would act like this at all in a different situation he likes. Just my opinion. It's ok to disagree. I do think he is being unprofessional tho. Can't argue with that.

I know it's fun to pile on Harden right now but the Rockets not having players available for tonight isn't due to Harden, its a separate covid exposure issue. Let's not let narrative get in the way of facts.

Totally agree here. That's why I posted the tweet above. People just like to jump the gun when it comes to Harden.

My comment was geared towards both the Rockets organization and James Harden. He is one of those players who aren't available because of his behavior, and the Rockets don't have players available because they have been not taking Covid19 seriously, and if you know anything about their owner, you can see why.

Either way, my point still stands. I'm not in on Harden coming here.

Character is an issue though, and Sean Marks' Nets place high emphasis on character, from top to bottom.

Being granted the keys to the franchise is one thing. That's at least understandable. But willfully thumbing your nose at peoples' health and safety in the middle of a pandemic, then demonstrating that you're blissfully ignorant about all that... almost as if the rightful criticism is just a petty, personal attack?

F-that, yo. These Nets don't need any part of that IMO.

Indeed, The Beard seems to be rapidly moving in to Kawhi territory at this point. Not a good look, to put it mildly.
