Celtics get a useful depth wing and a top 40 pick and the Warriors save an absolute ton of money. I get it requires paying to dump a guy they just gave an asset to add, but it makes too much sense not to happen if the Warriors are floundering.

Just putting this on the record now. Others will think of this come the deadline and I'm like Shams --I want to be first.

It doesn't seem to be in their nature to do a reversal like that.

I’m still waiting to see DLo with the healthy splash brothers.

Didn't the Chicago leadership (owner and FO) think they were smarter than most and would be able to easily replicate the Jordan Era?

Sometimes it is actually genius and sometimes it is just being in the right place at the right time. Not enough people are able to recognize the differences between the two.

It’s going to be a really long (or perhaps short) season. How much flex is built in to sign guys off the street for games? I think they are going to have to expand the rosters even more. Second game and the Rockets don’t have 8 bodies.

Also, first games cancelled due to the other teams Covid issues is the only award OKC is getting this year.

Most teams won't be able to afford that. You're not going to have much success with half of your team replaced with random G Leaguers.

Honestly, they should have just made the rosters 20 players each but you can only dress 15 for any particular game. Make it so five have to be minimum contracts and only top-15 salaries count against the cap. This is going to be a recurring problem for a while. Union wouldn't care because that's 150 more jobs.

The players got rid of the Bubble, but didn't keep up their end of the bargain with more personal responsibility.

It's a little until reasonable to expect that any one is going to want to spend six months locked in a hotel away from their families and the outside world.

Yeah the bubble was never an option again and shouldn't have been. Still pretty embarrassing for the league that opening night for the bulk of the league already has an issue because of a strip club and some hair cuts.

Virus too rampant to not except some teams getting caught up in it, but this was avoidable and just bad. Houston clearly has no player leadership atm. Tucker should be that guy, but they ticked him off too so now there is nobody. I mean Harden, Wall, and Cousins has to be the nut low leadership group. Wood, House and McClemore among some of the worst guys to depend on for major roles as well.

I understand the players wanting freedom, but I don't understand why the NBA players failed to look at the herky - jerky stuff in the NFL and MLB because those players failed to follow the guidelines and do what was needed to protect themselves.

I don't want to go into a political - social discussion, but I doubt if there are very many people in the entire world who are enjoying the virus and the impact it has had on our lives.

If at least one of the following groups

* League Office

* Owners

* Team personnel

* Fans

* Media

etc

was enjoying the situation, then I could understand players wanting to be happy as well and rebelling against guidelines - policies.

I actually think the NFL and MLB prove the opposite. Sure it was chaotic at times and they had to adjust on the fly but they got the seasons in.

...and the NBA (well at least Houston) stumbles right out the gate in December. I understand about adjusting as needed, but MLB started back in mid summer and the NFL started this Fall. None of the experiences - lessons learned in those leagues seemed to have sunk in for NBA players (at least some of the Houston players).

I don’t think 70 games plus postseason in a bubble is practical. Players wouldn’t agree to it. No incentive too.

It’s already been a short off season.

I understand the shift away from the Bubble.

Just scratching my head about some players screwing up right away when the owners/league gave them what they wanted which was to not be in the Bubble this season.

I don't know how the negotiations went, but players being responsible and making a serious effort to try and follow the rules/guidelines seems like a basic expectation.

If Charlotte hadn't signed Hayward I could have bought something like that, but they seem intent on competing so they're better off holding on to old Scary Terry.

I think even MJ will quickly realize dreams of being competitive are a bit silly this season. They just got pretty soundly beat by Cleveland of all teams and lost their starting center to injury.

I guess if they go this route their bench will be straight wrecking 2nd units at least. :D

Following up: Bogi came off the bench the first regular season game. Reddish and Hunter started at SG and SF, both did well.

Bogi and Huerter looked good on the 2nd unit together. Both can bring the ball up and initiate the offense. With Rondo and Dunn out they were needed for those skills last night.

When Goodwin went out with the knee issue, that was a scary moment. I was glad to see him get back in. The Hawks have depth but man, 3 guards out along with Capela and Okongwu is asking a bit much.

It's sunk cost. No getting out of Hayward at this point so may as well keep it together.
