Thibs is the 10th or 11th winningest coach in NBA history. The Knicks didn't hire him to tank. This dude is gonna run these players to the ground before he even considers tanking.

If Quick is the real deal then he's going to elevate the play of that bench. If he can't do that for the bench then he shouldn't be starting. So just wait for the bench to come in if the starters come out flat. It's simple

I'm not worried - yet. Remember, Obi and Quick are Leon Rose's guys. He was the one with his arms raised in the air in full "Rocky at the top of the stairs mode" when they were drafted. Elfrid was brought back as a consolation prize on a 1 year deal out of desperation. We will see the rookies early and often I think and Elf will either improve or be kicked to the bench.

This probably speaks most to Thibs recognizing rookies will have the shakes in their first real regular season NBA game. Wants that vet presence as a calming force, having not coached Elf and Randle long enough to realize what he is getting into.

yeah it's great that mitch and RJ are starting but it's under such poor conditions... no spacing and a PG who forgets there are 3 other guys on the court when randle is in the game :roll:
