Re: 2021 NBA Draft
Donta Scott on my Terps squad is earning some mention for the 2021 draft. A very strongly built 6'7 225 - looks a lot like Michael Bridges. He won't keep this up, but he's made 57% of his 3's this season. Good physical player at both ends - won various defensive POY awards in HS. Terps have another sophomore from Philly that's surprising them - Hakim Hart - a 6'5 long-armed swingman. Has an awkward looking set shot, but he's making it. He looked awful as a freshman, but got stronger in the offseason and now has some confidence. Scott could come out for the 2021 draft, but Hart's too inconsistent at this point in his development.

Keon has these weird games where he just looks like a complete dud of a player, it's random, giving me Monk vibes and I was wayyyy out on Monk

How would you compare Keon's athleticism to Suggs? I got into a debate with someone who views Keon's athleticism as clearly better, but I see it as the complete opposite. Thoughts?

Keon is more traditionally explosive, quicker in short quarters, but I actually like Suggs' physical pro a better for the NBA, way better size and speed to power ratio

Hard to assume this season with the Covid situation.

He has separated himself when you consider he and the others have been playing basketball for longer than a month. If Suggs continues to play like this and hit 50+ percent of his threes despite not having been much of a shooter in high school and shooting around 60% on free throws, then yeah there's less separation between the two.
This. It’s easy to identify the people who never watched Cade play in high school or FIBA.
Regardless of Cade, putting too much stock into High School and Fiba play is a sure fire way into drafting a bust. Teams would do good to just completely disregard what players did in High School once they have enough sample size from College/Pro Europe. If you want to make sure to draft a bust, then pick a Euro kid who was a phenom at the u18 but has like 3mpg in the pros. See Hezonja, Bender, Ntilikina and all the others who got drafted solely on the basis of their performances against kids.
Not saying this is the case for Cade, absolutely not, but you can look like the next GOAT playing against kids and then not achieve anything of substance among the pros.

So is the GLeague Elite thing a total bust? What's the plan there?
I thought they were supposed to be showcasing these prospects and all we've seen was cell phone footage.

.net has Suggs, Kuminga, Mobes, Cade, and J Green in that order as their top five

Yeah I peeped that. What's the appeal with Duke?

Makes me rethink my top 5. I don't ever like being that similar to .net. Switch Suggs and Kuminga and that is my top 5 currently.

These mocks still have Boston going top ten. Am I the only one who finds this perplexing? He’s looked beyond terrible. He can’t shoot.

The Celtics are led by two players who were top 2/3 high school recruits and then didn't look that good in college. You can find busts or success stories among any group of players.

What you do in the NCAA is millions of times more relevant than what you do in high school... though still, NCAA performance also needs to be taken with a grain of salt(the good and the bad)
Those two statements directly contradict each other.
They do not. NCAA might not mean a lot, but high school means NOTHING.

Eh but Cade has played more than just high school. Also has international events.

So do you just draw names out of a hat then rather than take into account what they did playing against international/AAU competition that is better than a lot of D1 schools lol
