Lets talk Zach Lavine

Post#1 » by ChicagoSportsFan21 » Thu Dec 24, 2020 3:23 am

This may be an overreaction after watching tonight’s game but IF this kind of play keeps up, is it time
to blow everything up/only keep Williams? Thus, trade Lavine as soon as possible considering he’s our best player and the Bulls can maximize his value right now before it’s too late (which some may have said Bulls should have traded Lauri after his second season which the Bulls didn’t obviously do) OR would you want him as your core for the future? Remember his contract is expiring soon too. And the draft is pretty loaded the next two drafts particularly the 2022 draft. Would future draft picks+possibly young players be enticing enough to say farewell to Lavine?

We should have at least started the tear-down this past offseason so we can take on bad money for draft picks or get rid of the garbage on the bottom our roster for cheap young players. Definite failure by AK not beginning that process.

Williams is the only piece we have to build around. Trade/cut the rest.

I'm all in to trade Zach to get acquired REAL PG.
But Bulls shouldn't trade Zach just to make trade happen.
When AK and ME has REAL trade deal for Zach then they should pull the trigger.

I love Zach but it would be a wise decision to move him by the deadline. OR GET HIM SOME REAL HELP

I'd keep Williams and Gafford, trade the rest. Get the best asset available.

There aren’t a lot of teams with a decent amount of prospects and picks trying to win that can use Zach. My rough guesses

Dallas
Philly
Toronto
Milwaukee
Denver
Memphis
New Orleans

You trade Gafford too if you can get a future pick.

Dotson might be our 2nd best prospect.

After the census "out of nowhere" PW pick, I'm on board with "if AK likes it then lets roll" moves with any of this garbage GarPax roster. That said, Zach is our best non-AK player on this roster, so lets not start ranting about trading him for yesterday's bagels.

I think we should do him the favor. Zach gets raked over the coals nationally but never gets a chance because he’s always hitched to a dumpster fire.

He’s far from a perfect player, but deserves a chance on a decent team.

If the Bulls do, you would be complaining to much to ever hear it.

NBA fan logic we need to trade one of two best players because (Player X) one needs to shine more.

I’d wait awhile. Revisit this near the trade deadline.

Sure, if we can get a decent future pick. I just think he's worth keeping based on his contract and what he's shown so far.

I like the idea of Zach as a release valve. Imagine how much these dudes would be getting pressed if he wasn't out there? Yikes

But I just don't see how Zach fits the timeline. I'd look for the best deal. This team is underpowered from a talent perspective, and just isn't built well. Wish we could fast forward like 3-4 years.

Win or lose I have been for trading Zach Lavine since last season.

Lavine is a 3rd option on a contender not a piece you can build around. He'll be gone in 18 months from now unless we max him out which would be a big mistake.

The focus should really be using our cap space to acquire picks absorbing deals and drafting high ceiling prospects in the draft. Gar/Pax had 0 clue what they were doing and the true rebuild started as soon as they were finally fired.

Trade Lavine now because right now the Bulls are at a different stage. Try to get another pick in next years draft.

Don't mind trading lavine

But its quite a few players that need to leave before him.

trade him. he will prevent landing cade/suggs and will likely leave this garbage team.
if the bulls dont land top 5pick, they are screwed.
Doncic will be goat. Lauri will be his sidekick.

It looks like AKME have their work cut out for them during the trade deadline with possibly a few players on the move. Hopefully there’s more activity than the off-season.

Just have to be proactive than reactive

Curry is being exposed in Warriors. They would get him help to try makes playoffs. Lavine,Otto Porter,W.Carter for A.Wiggins, Minesotta frp 21 top 3 protected, K.Bazemore expiring. Minesotta would stil be in 5-10 range in 2021 draft. Wiggins gives you some scoring and defense on wing, we could flip Bazemore for second round pick, and have chance to pick twice in top 10. In White's draft i wanted Seyku in Carter's Shai, so this time if Cade or Suggs/Green are already taken we two off pick Kumminga/Scottie Barnes/Jalen Johnson.

Which teams would be realistic targets? He definitely has some good trade value IMO. Like it or not, the bulls need to acquire some really good players through drafts or hope some superstars want to team up here.
