Wolves season watch thread for the 2021 pick

So far so good as start of the season.

And did I read the box score right? DLo coming off the bench?

Edwards having an OK game so far. 11 pts, 2 reb, 3 ast, 0 to, 1 pf in only 13 min. Not sure why they’re not using him more actually.

I had to look at the box to remember that Blake was on the Pistons. He is kinda irrelevant for a superstar.
This movie is like the Rocky Horror Picture Show where everyone knows all the lines.

I am cool with Minny winning tonight. They had to fight to the end to win against a top 5 lottery team. The question is how bad is Minny. Tonight did not answer it.

At least this win is one step closer to that 4-10 top pick. Closer to 4 than 10 hopefully.

Even if they’re the worst team in the league they only have a 40% chance of keeping their pick
Most 4th Quarter Points in Final since 1991
1995 Shaquille O'Neal 11.5
2000 Shaquille O'Neal 11.5 (61.1% TS)
2015 Stephen Curry 10.8 (75.1% TS)
1997 Michael Jordan 10.7 (55.1% TS)
1998 Michael Jordan 10.6 (50.6% TS)
2011 Dirk Nowitzki 10.3 (68.0% TS)

Yes, the werstern conference is brutal, where OKC is the only team that starts the season knowing they are going to tank. Even lower tier teams like the Kings and Grizzlies have playoff ambitions. We don't know what's happening in Houston with Harden, but they are not tanking without a pick.
Minnesota could very well end up 13th/14th in the West... so they need to win a few against the bottom of the east or the risk of a top 3 pick becomes very high.

Go big or go home ..For me I desperately want that 2022 #1 overall. I think there’s a decent shot Minnesota will be bottom 3 bad this season..Pistons are absolutely horrible ..near Knickerbocker level bad..

Indeed. They have next to no outside shooting. Once the TWolves switched to zone defense they went on their run.

Wolves beat the Jazz today. Screw 1 or 4... we need the pick in the top 10. They need to stop winning.

Edwards with 18 points on 8-12 shooting against a very good defensive team. He's likely to be erratic, but he's going to help them win some games this year. They may be better than expected and we may be worse. We could end up with 2 picks in the 8-16 range, which is not a horrible thing to have, but not nearly as good as a top 5 pick in 2021 or 2022.

Considering we’re stuck with Wiggins, if this pick isn’t in the 4-8 range the trade was a failure

Pretty spot on. I'll say 4-6 range because I'm not really feeling any of the projected guys from 7 on down.

I agree, hopefully the Wolves will regress to mediocrity with some time.

Good grief. At this point, I'm thinking the Warriors own pick will be Top 5 and Minny's pick will be somewhere in the 10 to 15 range. I'm also beginning to think that Minny pulled a fast one on the Warriors.

Edwards is REALLY freaking good and I watched the whole game yesterday at UTA. They are being underrated. Not locks for playoffs, but they can be really good. Could be a problem.

Twolves defense is still awful. I have no doubts it will be some where in the top 10.

UTA was the league's top 3PT shooting team last seasons and has all their best folks still on the team. MIN shut it down. They're different. But keep your chin up, indeed.
