Sad that you think a gift is a representation of a poor parenting too. It shouldn't represent either. For all the gifts, Lavar seems to be more hard on his kids than anyone else.

Lavar gets the hate, but he has put his kids in the position to succeed. Plenty of parents have loud mouths, but you just never hear from them...the difference is they put a microphone in front of Lavar. The real sad thing is to wish that a young kid doesn't succeed because you don't like his parents. That's where all the hate for the these Ball kids start from.

Reading comprehension bro.

Didn't come remotely close to saying a gift is a sign of bad parenting. I even went a step further to make that clear by saying "I'm not commenting on his parenting one way or another."

I was doing the same as you....reading more into a comment. Comprehend that

I wasn't saying that buying expensive gifts is the sign of a good dad either.

Then maybe you shouldn't have used him buying fancy cars for his kids as an example of him not being a horrible dad? :dontknow:

Not an NBA player, never was. You can't really shoot in the 30% range against weak competition and expect to do better in the NBA against longer, more athletic players. He simply doesn't score the ball anywhere from the field at the NBA minimum cutoff level. When you just cannot make shots at an NBA level, why are you here? You cannot be a playmaker if you can't score at the rim or the 3. It's not possible.

His playstyle is beautiful, but the substance is not there. His assist: turnover ratio in the preseason was almost 1:1 and it's 1:1 again.

I am far from a LaMelo defender, hell I wouldn't have wasted a lotto pick on him. But with that said it's only 1 game and he didn't even play 20 minutes. If you thought he was going to be bad, 16 minutes ain't enough to prove that you were right. You also have to factor in the shortened off season for these rookies.

He’s going to be really bad as a rookie cause he’s an awful scorer and defender and he takes a lot of stupid shots.

The upsides exciting cause in theory he can be a dynamic passer who can defense, slash, get boards, lead a break etc

There are a lot of tools to like but he needs to grow a lot. He took at least one stupid shot today - a non open 3 early in the shot clock. He shouldn’t ever take those. Plus he made some routing passes look hard by doing no looks.

He needs to play a simpler game and focus on contributing however he can.

He was picked on potential not his scoring talent. So not really surprising just gotta give him time to develop.

Perhaps Lavar's greatest achievement is conning NBA teams to waste a top pick and countless of millions of dollars on his sons, setting them up for life, don't say you won't do this for your kids if you could.

nah. i was big fan until he was pickd by the worst team. look they already all in on Rozier playing 40 minutes a game Ball has 0% chance to grow.
Look at their past prospects becoming all busts. Its approaching Knicks disaster level where for decades every single prospects turn into busts everytime they touch them including RJ. Lamelo needs more help than MKG/Monk.
If I was a top 5 prospect, I would rather sabotage my value rather than picked 1st by these teams. Wiseman was one lucky bastard because he was drafted a dynasty team yet he takes all the money. Edwards probably punching the wall as well.
Hopefully, a good team buys him cheap late first round as reclamation project.
Doncic will be goat. Lauri will be his sidekick.

Lamelo is basically Lonzo minus athleticism, defense, and with a worse 3 point shot

I saw 5 Hornet possessions live and he happened to be on the court.

I saw Lamalelo give two wide open shooters perfect places passes and they both clanked.

He's truly going to be a rediculous passer. With his height he can see almost any pass and with his skills he executes. His fg% will always be awful. If he can just be 33% from three and if he lives up to his physical profile on defense, he'll be All-star type.

I wish everybody got to see Lonzo at UCLA. He was the only freshman that was a 1st team all American and I thought he should have been the player of the year.
