Didn't come remotely close to saying a gift is a sign of bad parenting. I even went a step further to make that clear by saying "I'm not commenting on his parenting one way or another."
I was doing the same as you....reading more into a comment. Comprehend that
I wasn't saying that buying expensive gifts is the sign of a good dad either.
Then maybe you shouldn't have used him buying fancy cars for his kids as an example of him not being a horrible dad?

Alright man, this person that I was originally replying to made multiple posts and started topics based on hating Lamelo Ball and just the family in general. I made an off the cuff response to him. If you'd like to read into that response of how a gift is the defining factor of a good parent then so be it.
These gifts were given prior to large moments in his kid's lives (the draft and going to college). I don't see what the big deal is. To give someone a gift rewarding them for the hard work is not a sign of a bad parent. A few years ago, many thought that Melo had no chance at the NBA so I'm sure Lavar is a proud parent.
If these gifts were small and didn't cost much, then no one would care...but now that they're expensive then people make a big deal. You read into my comment that spending money makes a good parent when I said nothing of the fact.
