Why isn't the #1 pick starting? He's not injured, he looks pretty good in I imagine a limited scope not starting... he's the #1 pick I don't get it?

Deni is going to have difficulties having 5 FGA per game with Westbrook

Dude deserves more usage time. He looks really good.

I mean it’s pretty easy to understand if you just take a look at the Wolves roster for a second. The Wolves want to have some defense next to D Lo/Beasley. In addition, Culver/Okogie lineups don’t have enough spacing or shot creation (or at least historically haven’t) and were the Wolves worst lineups. Add in Rubio and that spacing and primary penetration ability is next to zero.

Edwards coming off the bench to start gives the second unit a much needed scorer. In addition, the Wolves want to play Edwards with Rubio who is a steady veteran, good communicator, great playmaker, and great at getting the ball to teammates in the right situations to help them succeed.

The Wolves stagger lineups and don’t do hockey switches. Edwards was in the second group on the team in minutes behind Towns, D Lo, Okogie in game 1. He, Rubio, and Beasley all averaged 25-27 minutes.

Yeah... and honestly it doesn’t help Ball that the Hornets always have 2 other very solid pg options on the roster.. so whenever he’s stinking it up they won’t hesitate to pull him

Pretty much. On top of that they have Gordon Haywood who can also facilitate and score.

Gordon Haywood, Rozier and Graham are locked in as starting wings for the foreseeable future. Unless they trade one of them, its going to be more hype then production for Melo in his rookie year.

The pick didn't make any sense the Hornets desperately need a big and Okongwu was right there. Or at least get Avdija who can shoot and play defense. MJ has a history of making bad picks and LaMelo doesn't fit with what the team really needs.

He's highly likely to end up being one of the top three players in the draft. It's good to see that the Bulls saw that and picked him regardless of where he was projected to go.

Williams balled last night and was a bright spot. In the end no defense from Chicago to speak of did them in.

Nah, like several players more but he was a nice pick too. The funny thing is how people are seeing this draft wasn't anywhere near as "bad" as they made it out to be.

I don't think people were saying the draft class was/is bad per se, but rather that there aren't any potential clear cut stars. People knew the draft was deep, it was just the top spots that were potentially bad compared to past years.

Having said that, Obi had a rather disappointing regular season debut. His passing is really nice, but other than that, not much to like yet. Obviously not writing him off, but I thought his impact offensively would be greater being an older rookie. Quickley is a nice surprise tho. Hoping he won't miss to many games with the hip injury, team's playing so much better with him at the point.

On the plays side I think his game is going to age/grow very nicely. He has a good foundation for the feel/playmaking part of the game.

When he gets older and more experience he can fill in the pieces of the game around that.

I just honestly wouldn't expect much impact for at least 2 years until he figures it out. Similar to his brother Lonzo

Wiseman looks great to me. He's already the second best Warrior, at least until Dray is back.
Can shoot the three, dunk, rebound, block shots, run and put the ball on the floor. He's the complete package.
He's already looking very good despite only playing 3 games last year and missing training camp.

So someone honestly tell me this

How many bigmen I’m the NBA can grab a shot cleanly out of mid air, bring it back down, and take it coast to coast...

Wiseman is the real deal. Looks like a hybrid of Jermaine O’Neal/Chris Bosh to me. Total beast.

I will give credit to him with his great shooting. That being said, I dont believe he will be shooting 75% which is unsustainable and Curry shooting 20% from deep for the entire season. Big man you need to be elite like KAT offensively or DPOY level. Wise defense sucks so being KAT is his only option. He is top 3 candidate for ROY but his minutes will be adjusted after Green returns and would like to see how he performs when his jumper sucks and goes 1/10. To me, great players shine even when their jumper sucks.
Doncic will be goat. Lauri will be his sidekick.

Edwards is just disqualified for Roy bc he will never start on a deep team and will not get opportunities.
This also means the number 1 pick is not as good as Beasley who plays same position as him.
First game he was on the verge of chucking glad it ended at 5/12 bc it would have been ugly.

Lmao such a small minded basketball take and shows you didn’t watch the Wolves game and have a shallow understanding of how basketball works.
