Zu was the only one who showed up in shape for The Bubble and the only one who exceeded expectations. Man, did he run the floor tonight!

But you gotta give Trez his due too. 17-10-3 on 6-7 shooting. Those are real numbers. I never dissed Zu--it was that Trez earned his stripes and his PT and his 6MOY and neither can play the 4.


I may have missed it--did Ibaka and Zu play together tonight?

Trez may have had a good night on offense but he blew most of his defensive assignments and was always out of place.

I hear you but there are 4 other guys out on the floor. Trez will never be the defensive QB like DeAndre fashioned himself to be. Indeed, Trez will NEVER make $20M a year like DJ did.

17-10-3 on 6-7 shooting. Those are real numbers. DJ did that one or twice.

Actually, I bet DJ had quite a few games like that with his FG% and assortment of putbacks and loose ball dunks. But rarely ever 20+ on that kind of efficiency, which Trezz will do from time to time.

Patterson does not seem promising, but Morris will hopefully be back soon which should take away his minutes.

I liked what Batum did there, Leonard wanted the iso on Harrell, but he directed him and forced the switch to get him on a smaller defender. That's the kind of smart ball handler play that the team needs.

When I see the ball in Batum or Kennard’s hands, I’m actually hopeful that something positive will soon result. They don’t just wait to dump the ball back off, I think this will really help our offense this year. Obviously good off-ball movement is required too.

I think iso ball (Kawhi especially) is fine if largely reserved for the last couple minutes of the game. But if he’s doing it all game defenses invariably adjust and make him take tougher and tougher shots as the night progresses.

Let's just hope and pray. The guy has skills, no doubt, not clear first option on a championship team skills, but great skills. His playoffs have people acting like he's not very good and like he's Derozan or something.

He just needs to play and not get distracted or try to find excuses whe he doesn't perform. Needs to have a psychologist with him all year, lol

Batum needs minutes, yes, he's going to have a lot of games with little scoring, but he's like the Shane Battier type for the team, though they are different players, but similar idea.

His length makes him a nice post entry passer for the mid-post sets with Kawhi or George. He's comfortable directing guys on offense and getting guys the ball in what he believes are the best spots.

Kawhi didn't have the best shooting night, but he had some good stretches.

Kennard certainly needs to get comfortable with the team and in his role, but his drive and kick game looked really nice, knows where guys are and finds them. He also has a pretty quick first step. Defensively he's going to have to work, he's not the quickest laterally, but the effort was there. For example, the recover and block on Schroder was nice.

Zubac is just solid, if Lou isn't moved, him and Lou were getting a connection going. The bench with a spread lineup around Zubac and then the starters with more spacing with Ibaka and then some mixes with that was nice, but we'll see.
