Derrick Rose is just one of the weirder NBA career paths of my lifetime. He's sitting there happily playing on Detroit off the bench, and playing well. He'd be the 2nd best player on the Bulls right now.

I don't know how to explain it. I've heard rumors he's purposely limited in minutes, but the guy is still so talented.

T'Wolves with an interesting choice for their first game. They went with Rubio, Beasley and Okogie as the starters, bringing D'Angelo, Anthony Edwards and Culver off the bench.

This makes perfect sense for them as far as playmaking and defense in the starting lineup, and plenty firepower from the bench.

They need defense, toughness and versatility on the floor in their starting line up.
KAT is not going to get you many defensive stops so you have to surround him with solid D and toughness and then bring scoring and play making off the bench.

It is also a way for them to help build depth on their bench.

Question - When Cam Payne was on the bulls did he play hard? I'm a suns fan and I'm trying to figure out what he's changed from his earlier failures. The easy thing to point at is he's shooting better, we'll see it that's sustainable. But I've been really impressed with how hard he plays and that's made him a pretty decent defender, something I didn't expect at all. He's also using his quickness to get to the rim.

Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming Wow! What a Ride!-H.S.T.

Russell came off the bench because he was late for shootaround. He will start.

Regardless of GarPax failures. I think Chicago has done good job at identifying nba players that would have 10+ years.

Cam Payne was chucker here trying prove he belong in league.

Our coaching and GM staff did him no favors with favoring Jermey Grant over him. Asking him a consistent production from him is unreasonable.

One thing Hoiberg did mention here he felt cam would fill a “ Isaiah Thomas “ like role well.

If the Bulls do, you would be complaining to much to ever hear it.

NBA fan logic we need to trade one of two best players because (Player X) one needs to shine more.

A player I think might be poised to have a breakout year- RJ Barrett of NY. He's been much more efficient in his scoring through pre-season, and last night he was 11-15 from the field and finished with 26/8/5.

MPJ, by the way, had 24/5/2 with 2 steals and 3 blocks in 30 min. It will be interesting to see what kind of year he has, now that he'll be starting, or at least getting major minutes for a full season. I wonder how his health will hold up.

Barrett got too much criticism last year because of the market he's in. Yes you want his shooting % to be higher but that will come as the team improves.
Thibs will help him progress into a better player. They need a legit PG. Quickley may develop into that for them.

Now Knox....he's got to get with it and develop something. Anything...

They started down 21-11 to Detroit until the “reserves” brought them back

Fav player to watch.

Can’t watch Trae. He’s Hardenesque with his flopping.

I was thinking this last night. His stopping and shooting when the defender is following him around the screen and getting the foul. Awful.

Announcement: I hate Luka's game.

There, I said it. I think it's painful and boring to watch and just as bad as Harden, but in a different way. I don't think I've ever seen a "superstar" who plays with as little rhythm and flow as Doncic. Like Harden, it's like he's invented his own brand of basketball that makes a mockery of the game's spirit.

It would make watching him a bit more pleasant if he at least looked like he enjoys the game. But the entitled attitude, whining, complaining, smirking and flopping gets to you.

I'm not surprised at all that he's fat now. Yes, he's skilled and talented. But I predict there's gonna be some trouble in Dallas within the next 3-4 years. The whole organization caters to him but he doesn't seem to care that much.

That's the downside to when players with very high ball usage carve out their own stature with a team these days. It's not really different when you compare Harden, Westbrook, Lebron, and Luka games. They play the same old top of key, pickup basketball, iso playstyle with everyone else spread out. Then with the more success they have, the diva disease sets in. The league + the media will market the hell out of them in different ways (sports talk, commercials, social posts, etc) while other stars who don't have that "shiny new toy" effect fade away. It looks like Harden is now the villain, Kyrie is a vaillain too, and Westbrook is in decline. You can argue it is mainly Lebron + Luka are the primary poster boys for this playstyle right now.

But I'm not going to lie. If a player of this archetype was on the Bulls helping them win more games, I would humbly cheer them on too.

Watch Lonzo’s 3 ball. Shot completely fundamentally sound now. He also has a good midrange jumper out of PnR. He’s gotten better.

I think Lonzo should be a key focus for our offseason...He would be a great fit here. Not sure NO is going to match a high price offer, but maybe they do.

I wonder what 38.6% usage Jordan does for this board in 87, after getting swept 2 years in a row by the Celtics in 1st rd.

Seriously? Luka plays with no rhythm and flow? There is not going to be any trouble for Dallas unless Luka gets injured, cause at 21yo, he’s a top-3 player.

Griffin has been smart in having vets and young talent together. Lonzo plays like a vet and makes others better. He’d be great here as our PG. doesn’t need a lot of shots. Shoots 3s well a strong defender 1-3. Pushes pace. Rebounds. Winning player with his legit shot now.
