Re: The Cody Zeller Thread - 3
Just a friendly reminder that Zeller should be back in 2-3 weeks and that Biz is not our best center on the roster. I know we are all talking about trading for McGee, Nerlens and other cheap options, but are any better than Zeller?
Zeller per 36 numbers last year:
17/11/2.5 on 52.4% including shooting 66% from 0-3 feet.
Not saying he is the long-term answer by any means, but for this year I think he is better or just as good anyone we can bring in that is cheap.

Re: The Cody Zeller Thread - 3
Zeller > Biyombo for sure, he's just a much better basketball player. Other than blocking shots and maybe rebounding he does everything else better on offense and defense.

Re: The Cody Zeller Thread - 3
@JMAC3, yes Noel would be a better option for this team right now. We need rim protection and a lob target at center more than anything. If history holds, Zeller will play some games and then go down again, so let's get a good 20mpg option so that Biz doesn't have to play when Zeller is healthy, and we'll have one decent option at center when he's not.

Re: The Cody Zeller Thread - 3
Cody used to be one of the best screeners in the league curious to see what kind of pnr he can establish w Lamelo; also curious to see the Hoosier two step w Cody and Hayward; and can’t believe CZ only 28 seems as as old as his jersey number

I think Biz is the better center between the two. Either way, if biz or Cody are your starting center then you probably suck.

Hes an upgrade over Biyombo, but that isn't saying that much. Him and Lamelo should work pretty well together.

Re: The Cody Zeller Thread - 3
Positives from this:
We aren't trading assets for a replacement level center.
It is a really good time to insert LaMelo and Cody into starting lineup together.
Less Minutes for Biz (Biz can be effective for 10-15 minutes a game from time to time).
Negatives from this:
If Zeller isn't a better option than Biz, we are forced to make a trade using real assets.

This is pretty interesting, seems super random that Cody would get picked to do this. Makes me wonder if this is his agent doing work and trying to generate some exposure and awareness knowing Cody needs to find a new home.
I would be completely shocked if he stays in Charlotte given the way JB showed his disapproval and reduced his role and minutes in a contract year for Cody.

If Indy is trying to trade Turner, i would bet on them to land him on a cheap deal. This is his homestate and he is a perfect bench center (always been here, struggled a bit as a starter). As long as they dont totally rebuild.

Not going to lie: I'm a little sad about this.
Would have loved to have him back on a cheap 1 year deal.

Lillard and McCollum will enjoy the bone jarring screens Zeller will set them to pop them open.
