Re: Free Agent Talk
Don’t tell me how much it will cost Lacob, who would you add? Or just tell me these guys are useless. I think maybe we went to hard on the youth movement. Well, and also just some better shooters, passers, and defenders makes a big difference.
Players that could be added:
Ersan Illaysova - 6-10 stretch 4 who shot 36% from 3 point last year and on his career. Can actually legitimately stretch the floor and play within a winning team.
Kyle O’Quinn - 6-10 physical center who’s a good screen setter and passer. Better passer and more physical presence than anyone we currently have at the 5.
Kyle Korver - 6-7 wing who is one of the best 3 ball shooters in modern history. Hand him the playbook and he can run some Klay sets for you.
Yogi Ferrell - 6-0 quick spark plug scorer who can fill it up.
Andre Roberson - 6-7 former all-nba defender coming off injury. Capable 1-4 defender with great length.
Jeremy Lin - High IQ dribble drive scorer who can pass the rock.
Anthony Tolliver - 6-8 stretch 4 and former Golden State legend, career 37% from 3 point range.
Rondae Hollis-Jefferson - 6-7 athletic defender who can guard 2-4 with limited shooting ability.
Dewayne Dedmon - 7-0 with a 7-6 wingspan who plays good interior defense.
Jordan Bell - Can he and Dray recreate that 11 game stretch of great hyper active defense?

Illaysova does have a skillset we need but his defense will make you want to gouge your eyes out.

Of that list? Roberson ... I guess. A wing stopper would be useful.

We watching the same team here? I think Roberson is probably the worst possible fit for a team that's already starved for shooting.

Roberson just because his elite skill is better than anybody else's on that list.

He’s damaged goods and still can’t shoot. Can’t believe I’m saying this but I’d rather have Anderson

With the Chriss injury I’m surprised Dedmon isn’t a Warrior already. Maybe he is holding out for his ideal team? Yet, he remains unsigned.

I like King Tolliver, but readily acknowledge I have no idea if he can still play.

What about getting Mirotic back to the NBA. Completely fills a need for a great 3 pt shooter, can play as a stretch four. I don't know if Milwaukke still holds his NBA rights, but would I think he would fit the DPE.

I am not sure what the issue is. It's interesting that for a guy that is suppose to be so talented that it hasn't translated to being on the court more.

Isn't he making more in Europe than an NBA minimum contract, which is why Warriors are looking to spend?
Also, not a big man.

I read he is only making 5.4 million after a forced 70% salary paycut due to covid... so he would fit the disabled player exception... he is proven scorer and hits the 3pt at a very good rate.

I don't know who we would jettison to create another roster spot, but with Smiley going down I would look at Skal Labissiere. O'Quinn is a nice player if you need bruiser, but would rather look at someone younger and longer.

Seems like Chriss is the obvious spot if they're going to waive someone. Out for the year then he's a FA. He'll get paid anyway.
