Zion Williamson is like the modern day Moses Malone. Athletic and great around the rim and basically nothing else.

Moses was a terrible passer and Zion is a pretty good one.

Moses was far better shooter and had more refined isolation scoring skillset.

Zion has good feeling, but I wouldn't call him a good passer. He misses a lot of openings right now and he has to improve this part of his game.

Bron is gonna take it easier. Hes gonna take votes from Ad. Steph isnt in the running as a play in team. Tatum isnt on that level yet. Jokic doesnt take the Rs that serious and Murray will prolly be a star player this year. Mavs will struggle some with Kp out and Luka looks fat

Bets have been coming on Kd but I dont see it. Nets are really deep. I dont think he'll play big minutes and Kyries numbers might be comparable. Better chance Nash wins Coy IMO. Kawhi isnt winning it. Harden will have too much controversy. Dame wont be a top 4 seed and he already had a monster season last year.

I think its still too early for Trae but who knows.

Your bolded take about Jokic's situations is actually quite reasonable based on past observations, but funny how for the first two games it's the polar opposite. Jokic ballin like crazy and Murray playing like trash. :D Rough two games for the Nuggets.

It's obviously still very early, but Batum appears to be the steal of the offseason so far. Right now he's looking to be the kind of savvy role player the Spurs always had when they were good. If he keeps this up, Marcus Morris might have to come off the bench when he gets back.

Jokic is my top candidate to get MVP. Still think the Nuggets will be a top team in the West. Gonna be tough for Luka with Porzingis out and can't see Giannis three-peating.

Idk, Giannis isn't going to have to do as much this year, Khris has taken a leap and Jrue is way better than Bled. He's honestly been ass cheeks to start the year and they've still cruised to the #1 ORTG through 2 games because of the others. He looks out of shape and rusty, he'll work himself into form to be sure but I also think he's entering that phase where he's not gonna go balls to the wall all the time in the RS.

Jokic does look like he's taking the RS serious now, man is in shape and putting up monster numbers right out of the gate. Denver's gonna be in that 1-4 seed range and if he's putting up like 24/12/7 or something ridiculous he's my pick

Re: MVP candidates. Here's how I see it at the moment:

If the Lakers are dominant with a clear #1, LeBron or AD will be strong candidates. If it's a tie between LeBron and basically anyone else, I'd expect people to go for LeBron.

Nets have started the year on fire. If they can keep that up and have a clear #1, that guy will be a very serious MVP candidate. I'd expect that #1 to be Durant, but if it's Kyrie, it's Kyrie.

Jokic is starting the year totally differently from in the past and I think he's going to be a Top 5 MVP candidate. Could be #1, but it will be tough unless the Nuggets themselves are one of the Top 2-3 teams in the league. Not saying that's crazy, but far from a given.

I think voters will be looking to find any possible reason not to vote for Giannis to a degree that we might see something really weird in the voting. The reality is that Giannis has deserved the MVP each of the last two seasons and if he is the most valuable regular season again this year by a good margin, he should win it again. But voters are not going to want to give him the award again until he wins in the playoffs, period, and we might even see some voters flat out leave him off their ballot with no rationale given. And of course, all this weirdness comes from the original sin of making the big award based on the regular season but judging player legacy based on the playoffs.

The Clipper duo is an interesting one to consider. Simply put, I think voters would have loved to have given Kawhi the MVP last year but just couldn't justify it. After getting upset in the playoffs last year though, Kawhi/PG have some of the same "haven't done it yet" vibe that Giannis has going for him. I'm sure a tie between Kawhi & Giannis goes to Kawhi, but Kawhi vs other guys maybe not so much. Hard to imagine George emerging as the Clippers' main candidate, but if he did, last year's playoffs would really hurt him.

It's not feeling, at this early date, like this is going to be the year Luka breaks through as MVP. Trae Young on the other hand began the year exactly like he needs to to get that MVP, but it will be a shock if the Hawks are good enough to keep him in the conversation.

I'd of course be remiss if I didn't mention the team with the longest winning streak: The Phoenix Suns. If they can keep that up for 70 more games, they'll be the greatest team in history and Mikal "Glasnost" Bridges will be on his way to being the GOAT.

Based on the first two games Morris feels like he's not even really needed by this team. Wonder how they're feeling about the contract they gave him?

Trae might have a top 5 Mvp finish this season. Top 10 seems like a no brainer right now

More than anything else, the way he's playing right now screams "Next Generation!" to me. He's taking the lessons learned from the guys who came before and he's going all in on that playing style while he still has ridiculous youthful quickness.

He's definitely the most exciting player of the new year so far.

Good first game, but first half of game 2 back to looking poor for Utah, bleh, was hoping to put some of this inconsistency behind us.

Again, if aren’t watching Houston, watch them.

Modern day early 90’s Blazers.

So much athleticism around a monster backcourt and an array of great skill sets.

I think Harden stays and they have fun killing everyone.

I would buy stock into the Timberwolves. They have a ton of mediocre to above average wings and an all-nba Center. They appear to play unselfishly and play hard defensively.

Anthony Edwards looks better than advertised.
