2020 Rookie Watch Thread

Post#1 » by JMAC3 » Sun Dec 27, 2020 3:15 am

I know we have an around the league thread, but I thought it would be fun to have our own thread to track rookies around the league night by night around the league.

For example: I know a lot of this board was high on Killian Hayes, but he has gotten off to a slow start.

Game 1: 21 mins, 7 points on 3/6 shooting and 3 assists
Game 2: 20 mins, 3 points on 1/7 shooting and 2 assists

Also Okoro played 42 scoreless minutes tonight after everyone and their mother was high on him during the Preseason.

42 mins, 0 points on 0/4 and 3 boards and 0 assists.

Poku and Maledon looked legit during preseason. Tonight they crapped the bed. I was hoping the ball would find them more than it did.

Lucky for him it didn't happen in his first game and also most people don't know who he is, so no one is talking about it (might not be true, I guess I didn't check to see if he got an high profile tweets about him).

VCJ - DNP.

Had high hopes for this kid and with Zeller out still can’t sniff a min against a tanking team. Shame he didn’t get drafted by OKC.

Kind of ironic that the guy many were low on due to lack of tape and/or only playing 3 games seems to be the only one impressing from day 1

Wiseman has been killing for sure by the numbers. Surprised he has shot it so well, but damn Warriors suck. They have lost by 65 points over two games haha. Are they going to blow it up this season?

Wiseman has shot well, but he's been horrendous on D. Got a long way to go

Honestly all of the top 3 has looked pretty good to me overall. So far Wiseman is the only one that looks like someone who would normally be in contention for the #1 pick, but they all look like they have quite a bit of potential.

Patrick Williams has looked pretty good and Deni has been solid as well.

Only 3 rebound tonight. No one wanted to listen when I said he wouldn't be anything more than an average rebounder. My sig bet with LofJ is looking good.

Yeah, but Melo only had 4 total assists in his first two games, so you were wrong about him being a good passer

Odd that you waited until after his first two to post that

Isn't his per36 like 9 rebounds? Three games and all but that's fairly solid for a rookie, no?

I think its fair to say that if we drafted Wiseman and he was averaging 15 and 6 and hitting 3s we'd be freaking elated.

About 8.5 after the 3 rebound game. Was a little over 10 per36 after the first two games, which is the same as Deandre Jordan for the first 5 years of his career. Not really worried about it.

Anthony Edwards had 15 pts on 6/21 of shooting including 1/9 from three.

They got blown out so it was a good game for him to experiment, but ugly.
