Don’t forget Achuiwa. Precious is already showing his value with his impactful rebounding and defense.

He isn't rebounding well so far, Zards -- 6 boards in 33 minutes.
Spoiler:
OTOH, he's 8-11 from the floor! So... you know what they say: the best defense is a good offense! :)

Obviously, none of this matters given the tiny sample size, but I think it's likely Precious will be a very solid NBA player.

The Warriors/Nets was the only predictable blow-out.

This is great for the NBA, non-superstar teams are competitive now

Welp, so-much for the competitive part today, blow-outs all-round :x

Swap out Nunn for Duncan Robinson and its interesting.

Yup. I might look to flip Robinson afterward. I think there are diminishing returns to having both Bertans and Robinson, and Robinson is up for a new contract soon. How much future value would a contender trade for him given that his cap number is so low at the moment? How many picks could you get out of team like Philly?

Beal is terrific, but would it make sense for Miami to trade all these assets for him?

OTOH, with Beal off the books, would Robinson's potential salary be much of a problem?

I love Beal, but this is the refresh/reset we need.

Think about this team:

Bryant
Achiuwa
Avdija
Herro
Westbrook
Bertans
Robinson
Hachimura
Neto
Brown Jr.
Lopez
Mathews

Achiuwa is 21, Herro 20, Bonga 20, Avdija 19. Bryant is 23, Hachimura 22.

Achiuwa shores up a glaring weakness at the 4 — rebounding, interior defense, switchability. He may allow Bryant to flourish, because he relieves some of his responsibilities.

That’s a great core to build with, those 6. Young, versatile, smart players. Let em grow together.

Westbrook is the team leader, which he already is, and he teaches the younguns how to be prepared, how to fight, how to ratchet up the intensity every night.

In time, it becomes Deni’s team.

If you want, you trade two of the 6 and get back one. That team can compete for a disgruntled star player a la a Jimmy Butler.

Don't forget Troy Brown.

Ultimately, that's a team that could implement doclinkin's vision of a headless monster with no primary point guard, just a bunch of big wings that can shoot, pass, dribble and make decisions, plus Achiuwa and Bryant who can finish in the paint.

The lineup in the post-Westbrook future would look something like this:

Guards: Herro, Brown, 2021 1st
Forwards: Avidja, Hachimura, Bertans, Bonga
Centers: Achiuwa, Bryant

Hopefully, one of Herro, Brown, Avdija or Hachimura emerges as an isolation scorer who can get a bucket in crunch time when the sets break down. That's the big if. Without one guy who can go get a bucket, the team peaks as San Antonio East - a 47-win team who can't advance in the playoffs. But if someone develops into a star, they'll be real good.

Turns out all Oubre has made is dunks. He is 0-20 FGA on all other shots!

They’re killing him in the General Board

Followed a 3-14 FG shooting with 1-10. Dude is 4–24 and at least one make was a dunk.

Bet they’re having buyer’s remorse.

I would want Robinson, Herro, Achiuwa, and their 2022 first + salary filler (probably Leonard + Olynyk) in a Beal trade, no exceptions on taking anything less.

I don't think they'd do it.

If Beal keeps playing this well, I think that's a possibility.

I'm a little confused on their pick situation. Their 2021 pick is gone and their 2023 pick is going to OKC but with top 14 protection in 2023, 2024 and 2025 - making it impossible to move in any of those 3 years. I think there's a way they can renegotiate those protections so that the 2023 pick is back under their control and tradeable. Either way, I don't think the 2022 pick is on the table due to the Stepien Rule.

I’d happily take their 2026 and 2028 along with Robinson/Herro/Achiuwa if their earlier picks aren’t up for grabs.

While we wallow in the Wiz problems, it's nice to find an ex-Wiz off to a terrible start - Kelly Oubr has missed all 17 of his 3 point attempts and is shooting 17.5% from the field overall. He's rebounding really well, but he's also got a lot of turnovers.

When I see guys completely lose their shot like that, it makes me think there's a flaw in their practice habits. Not questioning his work ethic b/c I don't know it personally but there's a huge difference b/w just 'getting up shots' and building muscle memory through repetition. Whatever the case may be he shouldn't be this bad.
