Re: Around the NBA: 2020-21 Season
You can't read too much into these lopsided losses. The teams with new personnel or coaches, more covid cases are clearly on the losing end of these wild blowouts. Practices aren't really happening as normal, and a 1 week camp with 3-4 pre-season games with part of your roster missing due to covid protocols, all the players are in different places with conditioning and timing.

Looks like you can't trust the Clippers 100% again this season. They should be in the mix but may disappoint near the end.

Anybody else sick if the constant blowouts now a days? I'm constantly turning off games at halftime because they are over.

I did notice a lot of weird FT disparities. NBA had a bit of a WWnba feel last season..l hope that doesn’t return, especially with the gambling factor.

Damn, that's a guy they will need against tougher competition or when Kyrie gets his typical injury bugs.

Do the Nets fans b1tch as much about Dinwiddie being on IR every season as posters in here about Markkanen? Didn't stop the Nets from signing him to a 3 year deal...

I like the quote- it makes me chuckle. And it was/is pretty much true.

That's going to sting. Dinwiddie is a guy they needed to stay healthy. Going to need to rely on developing some guys for more bench depth.
Shamet and LeVert have to be huge for them now.

Dinwiddie is guy who already suffered ACL injury during college. Which basically tanked his draft stock. So he knows how hard is get back and make it again not only at higher level but recover and rehab properly. I am sure he will come back in full health. Sucks for Nets tho.

League feels watered down and sorta gimmicky with all the three point shooting now. Probably more than time to consider some rules changes, including widening the court a bit, extending the corner three and figure out how to encourage less threes in general and different play styles. NBA has become a pretty vanilla product night to night. I am a fantasy guy and even with my guys going it feels tedious watching the games so far. It's a lot of three balls.

I'll go ahead and make a sig bet that Mikal is better by RPM this year than Zach.

Cavs are 3-0 now. I don't see how that roster can be that good. And they won last night with Okoro out.

i think they would have widened the court a long time ago if not for the revenue from the front row seats

Sexton was always a high effort player. Nance too. Even Osman and Delly, and Exum was leaning that way after flaming out. Garland looks significantly improved. Drummond used to be a dominant defensive player and is showing flashes of being so again. And just because Love is overpaid doesn’t mean that he is bad at basketball...

I mean to say this yesterday, but Orlando has to be the most disrespected playoff team in recent memory. They count them out every year but they keep winning games and making the playoffs.
Its all because they don't have that one marketable star that they just disregard them. But they are obviously a good team.

You speak of them like they're a 50 win team. They were barely over .500 two years ago and were 33-40 last year. I call it being in the East.

Yeah. I didn't get letting him go, considering he was a min. contract.
Holiday, TLC, even Selden or Sampson, and CHI had itself a competent set of scrubby but very serviceable, multi-position bench wings. Instead they decided to quadruple-down on scrub Cs and PGs.
